All Individuals Ages 16 and Older Will be Eligible for COVID-19 Vaccination on April 19 in New Jersey

Trenton NJ, Governor Phil Murphy today announced that all individuals ages 16 and older will be eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccination on April 19 – two weeks ahead of the state’s initial target of May 1. New Jersey’s phased vaccination roll out has successfully administered 4.7 million doses of vaccine to essential frontline workers, educators, high-risk groups, and other eligible adults who live, work, or study in the state. With 1,796,798 adults already fully vaccinated, New Jersey is on track to meet Governor Murphy’s goal of fully vaccinating 4.7 million adults by June 30.

Trenton NJ, searches this morning revealed many New Jersey Government state site are down or offline this morning . The Ridgewood blog ran a check and found some functions on  NJMVC offline , the Office of New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy, NJDEP, NJDOL and NJDOH all offline at 7:20 am this morning(04/03/21) . Currently there is no information available as to the nature of the problem.

In person instruction will resume on Thursday, December 10, 2020.Ridgewood High School students should not participate in out of school activities during this time of remote learning. River Vale NJ, Assemblywomen Holly Schepisi : “Since March I’ve been banging a drum about our failures to protect our most vulnerable residents in our Long Term Care Facilities. I started reaching out to the Governor’s office and the Department of Health in late March to ask for assistance and provide suggestions regarding outbreaks that were starting to occur in Bergen and Passaic based facilities. I offered up suggestions such as closing the FEMA testing sites for several days to mandatorily test staff and personnel at the facilities. I begged them to allocate some PPE to the facilities. I offered medically trained professionals to assist with contact tracing. And I warned that unless we took immediate action we would see outbreaks throughout every facility in the State.”

Gyms and Indoor Amusement and Water Parks to Reopen Effective Tuesday, September 1

Trenton NJ,  Governor Phil Murphy signed Executive Order No. 181, which permits gyms and health clubs, as well as amusement and water parks, to reopen their indoor premises to the public on Tuesday, September 1 at 6:00 a.m., provided these facilities comply with the health and safety standards issued by the Department of Health.
“Gyms are among the most-challenging indoor environments to prevent the transmission of COVID-19,” said Governor Murphy. “Given where we are in this fight and the overwhelming personal responsibility demonstrated by gym owners and gym members over the past several months, we can confidently take this important step on our road back.”
