Ridgewood Police Begin Parking Permit Enforcement

Ridgewood NJ, This is to make you aware that the Police Department is enforcing for lack of a Ridgewood Parking Permit (RPP) or parking in a location with the wrong permit.  As a reminder, the only permit accepted in the Hudson Street lot is the Hudson Street permit.  The Premium Ridgewood Parking permits may be used in all lots, except the Hudson Street lot.

The 2019 Annual Commuter (Ridgewood Parking Permits – RPP) are currently for sale at the Reception Desk in the lobby of Village Hall, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., except holidays.  All applicants must bring their driver’s license and vehicle registration(s) for car(s) they wish to list on their permits, as the RPPs allow up to 3 cars on each hang tag.  The RPPs allow commuters to park in designated Ridgewood parking lots without having to pay the parking meters.  All permit prices will be pro-rated throughout the year.  The following is a summary of the Ridgewood Parking Permits (RPPs) and their prices:

Premium RPP – $1,300 annual fee – SOLD OUT

Hudson Lot Permit – $1,300 annual fee – allows Ridgewood residents to park in the Hudson parking lot only, with a guaranteed parking space.  When the Hudson parking lot is closed, due to the construction of the parking garage, those residents with a Hudson parking lot permit will participate in a ride share program, through December 31, 2019.
  Residents who purchase Hudson parking lot permits must purchase a premium Ridgewood parking permit at the end of 2019 in order to continue to participate in the ride share program until the parking garage opens in 2020.  Hudson Lot permit holders may use their permits in any lot on Saturdays.

Non-Premium RPP – $975 annual fee – allows Ridgewood residents to park in Chestnut Street lot, North Walnut Street lot, Cottage Place lot, and Route 17 Park and Ride lot. 

Park and Ride RPP – $975 annual fee – this price is for both Ridgewood residents and non-residents, and allows parking in the Route 17 Park and Ride lot.

Non-resident RPP in Central Business District – $1,950 annual fee – allows non-residents to park in the Cottage Place lot.

Ridgewood Resident Commuter Sticker – Free – All Ridgewood resident commuters who wish to park at the train station must bring in their driver’s license and vehicle registration(s) to obtain a free Ridgewood Resident Commuter sticker.  Free Ridgewood Resident Commuter stickers will also be issued to all Ridgewood residents purchasing RPPs and the Hudson Lot permit.

The Village will accept checks, cash, or credit cards (with a 3% transaction fee to the user) for payment.

There are also Central Business District (CBD) Employee stickers and hang tags that may be purchased by those who work in the CBD and allows parking at designated meters in the North Walnut Street and Cottage Place lots.

UPDATE ON SALE OF 2018 ANNUAL RIDGEWOOD PARKING PERMITS (RPP)

The 2018 Annual Commuter (Ridgewood Parking Permits – RPP) are now on sale at the Reception Desk in the lobby of Village Hall, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., except holidays. All applicants must bring their driver’s license and vehicle registration(s) for car(s) they wish to list on their permits, as the RPPs allow up to 3 cars on each hang tag. The RPPs allow commuters to park in designated Ridgewood parking lots without having to pay the parking meters. The following is a summary of the Ridgewood Parking Permits (RPPs) and their prices:

A maximum of 210 Premium RPPs will be sold, on a first come, first served basis. At this time, there are only 95 Premium RPPs left to be sold.

Non-Premium RPP – $750 annual fee – allows Ridgewood residents to park in Chestnut Street lot, North Walnut Street lot, Cottage Place lot, and Route 17 Park and Ride lot.

Park and Ride RPP – $750 annual fee – this price is for both Ridgewood residents and non-residents, and allows parking in the Route 17 Park and Ride lot.

Non-resident RPP in Central Business District – $1,500 annual fee – allows non-residents to park in the Cottage Place lot.

UPDATE ON LEAF COLLECTION

As of December 21st, leaves are being picked up in Area D. It is anticipated that our crews will begin the third leaf collection in Area A, on Wednesday, December 27th. After Area A is completed, there will be a final collection through the entire Village, beginning with Area C, followed by Area D, Area B and Area A (which will be the fourth leaf pickup for each of these areas). All of these dates are weather dependent. All areas may put out their leaves from December 23rd through January 1st. You may bag your leaves in paper biodegradable bags and place them on your curb or bring leaves to the Recycling Center. The hours of operation at the Recycling Center are Monday through Saturday, 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM. If you bag your leaves, please call the Street Division at (201) 670-5585 and we will pick up the bags through February 28, 2018.

CHRISTMAS TREE PICKUP

In an attempt to offer convenience and streamline efficiency within operations, the Parks Division has created a new schedule for Christmas tree pick-up in January of 2018.

This new schedule will follow a Tuesday/Eastside and Thursday/Westside pattern with trees being picked up from resident curbside on the Eastside of the Village on Tuesdays, January 2nd, 9th, 16th and 23rd. Trees will then be picked up on the Westside of the Village on Thursdays January 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th between the hours of 8:00 am – 3:00 pm.

Those residents wishing to drop off trees may bring them to the designated location at the Graydon Pool parking lot anytime from January 2nd – 25th, 2018.

Ridgewood Parking Permits – RPP

Hourly meter rates in all Village lots and streets are $.50 per hour from 10AM to 6PM, Monday through Saturday. 3 hour meters on streets & in all lots, except the Cottage Place Lot which has 8 hour meters.

RPP – (Ridgewood Parking Permit) provides ‘coinless’ convenience and can be used for unlimited parking in specified lots.  $750 Annual permits are issued for a calendar year to residents for parking in Chestnut St., N. Walnut St., Cottage Pl., Route 17 Park & Ride Lots. $1,000 Annual Premium RPP will be issued for parking at the Train Station, and all other Ridgewood Lots. A maximum of 210 Annual Premium RPP will be issued.

$1,500 Non-Resident Permit allows parking in Cottage Place Lot; $750 Permit allows parking in the Rt. 17 Park & Ride Lot.

Payment may be made by check or cash. We accept credit cards that will have a 3% convenience fee charged to the purchaser.

Applications are available at the Village Hall Reception Desk Monday through Friday, 8:30AM to 4:30PM. All Applicants – residents and non-residents – must show current Driver’s License and valid Vehicle Registration(s) for up to three vehicles. For flexibility, you can list 3 vehicles on a permit, but the permit can only be used by 1 car for 1 parking space at a time.

All lots, including the Train Station Lot, will require a free Ridgewood Resident Parking Sticker in addition to the purchased RPP.  Resident parking stickers are issued annually for free to residents only at the Village Hall Reception Desk.  This sticker confirms you are a resident.

RPPs can be used in any metered space in the lots designated for that particular permit and provides unlimited parking from the hours of 6AM to 2AM. On Saturday, RPPs may be used in any lot, but not in the CBD Employee Spaces. They are not valid for street parking. The hangtag permit must be displayed on the rearview mirror when the vehicle is parked. RPP does not guarantee availability of a parking space.
