Ridgewood NJ, Earlier this month, Ridgewood became the 355th community to enroll in the AARP Network of Age Friendly Communities.
According to Village of Ridgewood Mayor Ramon Hache, ” Through the collaboration between the Village of Ridgewood, Age Friendly Ridgewood, AARP, Ridgecrest, S.H.A.R.E. and our many volunteers, we will continue the work of empowering our older adults and making Ridgewood an even greater community to age in place. Share Inc is a Senior Citizens’ Retirement Community in Ridgewood, New Jersey. In 1982, it received its exempt organization status from the IRS and now brings in $416 k in annual income, primarily through program revenue.

Shared Housing Association for Ridgewood & Environs, Inc. (SHARE) invites area realtors to join them for an Open House on Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at 104 Cottage Place in Ridgewood, N.J.
Special guests will include Ridgewood Mayor Paul Aronsohn and Council Member Gwenn Hauck, both of whom are known for their work on behalf of senior citizens and housing. Members of SHARE’s staff and board of directors will be on hand to discuss the benefits of its two affordable, shared residences for independent seniors who are looking to downsize or seeking the services and socialization that community living offers.
A buffet lunch, sponsored by SHARE Advisory Board Chair Debby Crane of Re/Max Properties, will be served starting at 1 p.m. House tours will be conducted from 1:30 – 3.pm. SHARE, Inc. to Host “Just Desserts” Fundraiser to Benefit its Residences for Independent Seniors
Shared Housing Association for Ridgewood & Environs, Inc. (SHARE) is hosting “Just Desserts: A Matinee of Sweet Delights and Soulful Sounds” on Saturday, April 18, 2015 from 2 to 5 p.m. This fundraising event will be held in Anderson Hall at the Unitarian Society, 113 Cottage Place, in Ridgewood, N.J.
Admission is $25 per person and includes an array of desserts, beverages and performances by local musicians. A 50/50 and Prize Raffles will also be sold. Proceeds will help fund capital improvements to SHARE’s two residences for independent seniors, located at 104 Cottage Place and 130 Prospect Street in Ridgewood.

Area Residents are Invited to Programs Addressing Elder Law, Vision and Hearing Issues and Patient Advocacy
The Shared Housing Association for Ridgewood and Environs (SHARE, Inc.) will continue its free workshop series addressing issues concerning seniors, their families and caregivers. These programs will be presented by local service providers and area residents are invited to attend.
The following workshops will be held in March and April at the SHARE residences indicated:
Wed., Mar. 11 at 7 p.m. – Elder Law Issues: Michael Manna, Esq., will examine issues including durable power of attorney, living wills and estate planning. 130 Prospect Street, Ridgewood, N.J.
Thurs., Mar. 19 at 7 p.m.– Sight Augmented: Bernhardt Schneider from Pear Enterprises will demonstrate equipment that assists the vision impaired. 104 Cottage Place, Ridgewood, N.J.
Thurs., Apr. 2 at 12 p.m. – New Jersey Hearing Aid Project: Audiologist Ann Marie Olson will discuss two programs that are available to low-income seniors. 104 Cottage Place, Ridgewood, N.J.

The Shared Housing Association for Ridgewood and Environs (SHARE, Inc.) is hosting a Winter Workshop series designed to address issues concerning seniors, their families and caregivers. Area residents are invited to attend these free programs presented by local service providers and businesses.

Shared Housing Association for Ridgewood and Environs (SHARE, Inc) will welcome spring, with a High Tea, Saturday, April 5, 2014, from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM at 113 Cottage Place, Ridgewood, NJ. The Sweet & Savory event will support the mission of providing affordable independent living for senior citizens age 62+ for more then 30 years in the Village of Ridgewood.
A $25.00 tax deducible contribution will include refreshments, live music, entertainment, and an opportunity to win coveted door prizes. Party attire is encouraged and participants are invited to bring their own elegant tea cup and saucer for personal service during the reception. SHARE stands for Shared Housing Association of Ridgewood and Environs; we are a private, non-profit, non-denominational corporation that provides an affordable home-like environment for seniors. There are two locations: 130 Prospect Street and 104 Cottage Place. During the day, there are three full-time employees (a program and two chefs) and a part-time housekeeper. The senior residents enjoy a community living situation with meals served Monday through Friday. All weekend dinners are donated through our community volunteer program.
