Bergen County Bomb Squad and Bergen County Hazmat Called to Corporate Drive in Elmwood Park over Suspicious Package

Elmwood Park NJ, an unknown individual entered an industrial building on Corporate Drive in Elmwood Park just after 0830 hours on Friday, 03/31 and left a suspicious package behind before quickly departing. Elmwood Park Police ordered the building evacuated and summoned the Bergen County Bomb Squad and Bergen County Hazmat. Bomb Squad technicians and Hazmat personnel were later observed entering the facility. Police at the scene did not say what the package contained, nor if there were any suspects identified. No injuries were reported in connection with the incident.

Suspicious Package Removed from a Rest Room at Terminal C at Newark Liberty International Airport

Newark NJ, dozens of flights have been delayed Sunday September 11th at Newark airport after authorities responded to a report of a suspicious package. 59 flight were delayed and the arriving flights are being held until 2:30 p.m.

The package was reportedly in a restroom in Terminal C at Newark Liberty International Airport and Level 1 of the terminal was immediately evacuated while officials investigated the scene, according to the Port Authority Police Department.

The item was removed and the airport was cleared at around 1:45 p.m., the Port Authority Police  said.

Suspicious Package Closes Broadway eastbound between 29th Street and Fair Lawn Parkway in Fair Lawn

Fair Lawn NJ, Broadway eastbound between 29th Street and Fair Lawn Parkway in Fair Lawn was closed to pedestrians and traffic for over one (1) hour late Wednesday night, 02/17 while Fair Lawn PD and the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad Unit investigated a suspicious package left in front of a vacant storefront near the corner of Broadway and 30th Street. An x-ray of the package taken by a Bomb Squad technician showed it to be harmless and the roadway was completely reopened just after 10 PM. Fair Lawn FD Companies 3 & 4, along with Fair Lawn EMS, were placed on standby during the incident as a precaution. The driver of a 4-door grey colored Cadillac Escalade who failed to stop for police officers directing traffic at the scene was apprehended a short distance away and later charged with DUI.

Suspicious Package  found in the parking lot of the HoHoKus Police Department

Ho Ho Kus NJ, At approximately 9:45 PM on Wednesday, 09/02, a suspicious package was found in the parking lot of the HoHoKus Police Department, which occupies a portion of the HoHoKus Borough Hall along with HoHoKus FD and EMS. As a precaution, the entire building, including fire all fire apparatus and ambulances, was evacuated; all on-duty FD and EMS volunteers stood by at the scene.

The Bergen County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad unit, including a explosive detection canine, was summoned to the location. All incoming telephone traffic to HoHoKus PD was rerouted to Waldwick PD and portions of Sheridan, Warren, and Sycamore Avenues were closed to vehicular and pedestrian traffic. The package was inspected and examined by Bomb Squad personnel and determined not to be explosive in nature. The scene was cleared by 11:05 PM.
