The caller claims to be a member of our department. They claim the call recipient has an arrest warrant and demand payment. THIS IS A SCAM. Hang up and do not give any personal information. The Ridgewood Police Department NEVER calls to demand money over the phone for outstanding tickets or warrants.

Ridgewood NJ, theRidgewood Crew Team hosted its annual Row-a-Thon this past Saturday, witnessing an exhilarating race between local police and firefighters, showcasing community spirit and athletic prowess.

In addition to monitoring local weather reports for current weather conditions, we encourage all residents to sign up for the Village’s Emergency Alert Notifications through Ridgewood’s Everbridge account. Ridgewood NJ, the Ridgewood Police Department is once again seeing an increase in motor vehicle thefts and catalytic converter thefts. The vehicles are parked overnight on the street, so we remind everyone that overnight parking between 0200 and 0600 hours is not permitted in the Village without special permission. These thefts can be prevented by taking your keys with you and securing your vehicle. Please make it a routine to lock all your doors to your vehicles and your homes. Also do not leave the vehicle running unattended with the keys inside.
Ridgewood NJ, the Ridgewood Police Department has seen a significant uptick in reports of fraud involving identify theft and scam schemes (phone, email, and in-person). We recommend that all our residents stay vigilant by monitoring their credit activity and to use extreme caution when dealing with parties attempting to receive a payment for any purpose. Before sending any payment, it is recommended to confirm with the company or agency directly if there is in fact a balance due.
Ridgewood NJ, the Ridgewood Police Department announces ,The Chief Michael Feeney Junior Police Academy will be celebrating it’s 10th (!) year in June. This year’s program will be held from June 26-30th and is open to Ridgewood students that will be entering 6th and 7th grade in the fall. Registration opens on April 15th on Community Pass.

We will be having a mock style police academy learning about all aspects of public safety in the Village that keeps our community safe while building relationships, promoting leadership, and having fun! Previous years have included a military helicopter landing, trips to the Bergen County Jail and Police Academy, and mock crime scene investigations.
Ridgewood NJ, when a person suffers cardiac arrest, every minute that passes can make a huge difference. Fortunately for a Village resident in his 40s, Ridgewood Police Officers Miguel Torres and Jeff Casson were nearby the YMCA on Monday night.
Ridgewood NJ, the Ridgewood Police Department is proud to announce that Officer Vincenzo Vaccarella was officially sworn in by Mayor Susan Knudsen at February 9th’s council meeting. Vincenzo completed his training at the Bergen County Police Academy in December. Vincenzo is the son of Officer Rosario Vaccarella, grandson of retired Captain Keith Killion, and nephew of Detective Keith Killion Jr. The department is proud to have him carry on the family tradition of service to the Village. Vincenzo’s mother Kim held the Bible as his family looked on.
Ridgewood NJ , according to the Ridgewood Police ,the Department has found that a vast majority of the stolen vehicles in our community have been stolen because the keys (or key fob) were left inside the vehicle at the time of the theft, and the vehicles have been left unlocked. The Ridgewood Police Department strongly encourages our community to lock your vehicles at night, to never leave your keys (or key fob) in an unattended vehicle, and to avoid leaving valuables in your vehicle at night.
