Township of Washington Police Department Search for Burglary Suspect

Twp. of Washington NJ, the Township of Washington Police Department would like to inform the residents that yesterday December 18, 2024 at approximately 8:47 PM Patrol was dispatched to residence on the west side of town for an Attempted Burglary call.  It appears one actor was going to possibly attempt entry into a home, which was monitored by the homeowner’s camera system. Patrol responded, canvassed the entire area with negative results.

Twp. of Washington Police Department : Van Emburgh Avenue Paving Announcement

Twp. of Washington NJ, The Township of Washington Police Department would like to advise all motorists that Van Emburgh Avenue is scheduled to be paved by the County of Bergen this week. Van Emburgh Avenue is set to be paved from the Hillsdale Border to the Ridgewood Border. The project is expected to take 2 days, Wednesday September 18th and Thursday September 19th between the hours of 7:00am and 4:00pm. Information on the projected scope of work for each day is listed below. Additional notifications to follow.

Township of Washington Police Department : Multiple Incidents of Catalytic Converter Theft

Twp of Washington NJ, the Township of Washington Police Department is urging all residents to protect themselves from catalytic converter thefts!  Over the past several weeks our town has had multiple incidents regarding individuals cutting off catalytic converters from vehicles very quickly during the overnight hours.  All of the vehicles in our town that had the catalytic converters cut off have been Hondas.  Please see the link below with helpful tips on how to protect yourself as best as possible.  As always, please follow us on all our social media platforms for up-to-date information.

TWP of Washington NJ, The Township of Washington Police Department are urging all residents to be diligent this holiday season by locking their homes, setting alarms, and leaving lights on both inside and outside of their homes. According to the FBI, nearly 400,000 burglaries occur in the U.S. during November and December each year. Burglars don’t have time to break into heavily secured homes. This is because most burglars do not want to get caught. Chances are that they will target your home if they know it’s not well secured and that you are not home. Burglars are opportunists, eliminate opportunities for them by locking all doors/windows/gates. Also, secure your vehicles as burglars will attempt to gain entry into them as well.

Twp of Washington NJ, The Township of Washington Police Department is proud to announce the first edition of the “Township of Washington Police Cop Card” program. This program furnishes the Township of Washington Police Officers with baseball type trading cards. The front of the cards will have the officers photograph and the back of the card will contain a short biography of the officer, as well as a personal message to the children from that officer.
