Ridgewood NJ, according to our friends at SPACE.COM ,”one of the year’s best sky shows will peak this weekend between Oct. 20 and 22, when the Orionid meteor shower reaches its best viewing. The meteors that streak across the sky are some of the fastest and brightest among meteor showers, because the Earth is hitting a stream of particles almost head on.”
“Orionid meteors are visible from anywhere on Earth and can be seen anywhere across the sky. If you find the shape of Orion the Hunter, the meteor shower’s radiant (or point of origin) will be near Orion’s sword, slightly north of his left shoulder (the star Betelgeuse).”
“As is the case with most nighttime skywatching events, light pollution can hinder your view of the Orionid meteor shower. If possible, get far away from city lights (which can hinder the show). Go out around 1:30 a.m. and let your eyes adjust to the dark for about 20 minutes. Bundle up against the cold if necessary. Lie back and use only your eyes to watch the sky. Binoculars and telescopes won’t improve the view, because they are designed to see more stationary objects in the sky.”

Ridgewood NJ, Hillary Clinton told Jimmy Kimmel that barring any national security risk, she would like to open up the government files on Area 51 to the public if she is elected president.
“I would like us to go into those files and hopefully make as much of that public as possible,” she told Jimmy Kimmel Thursday night on his late night ABC talk show. “If there’s nothing there, let’s tell people there’s nothing there.”
When Kimmel followed up by asking what she would do if she discovered there was actually something alarming in the files, Clinton replied: “Well, if there is something there, unless it’s a threat to national security, I think we ought to share it with the public.”
Area 51 is an Air Force facility in Nevada that was only recently acknowledged by the U.S. government. Some conspiracy theorists believe it is where the government houses secret information about aliens and UFOs. many point to the 1947 crash in Roswell. In 1947 an unidentified flying object crashed on a ranch northwest of Roswell, New Mexico, sometime during the first week of July .

FAIR LAWN, N.J. (CBSNewYork) — Friday night was far from the first nervous one for residents of Fair Lawn, New Jersey, who have been plagued by loud booming sounds for about a week.
As CBS2’s Dave Carlin reported, the source of the nuisance is a mystery.
“We were, like, looking at each other like, ‘What was that?’” said Danielle McManus.
It happened twice in the past week to McManus and her family. While inside their home in a usually very quiet Fair Lawn neighborhood, things went bump in the night.
“If we didn’t know any better, it almost sounds like a cannon,” McManus said, “It was so deep and just like, echoey.”
Elsewhere in the neighborhood along the Passaic River, residents say they have heard loud booms as early as 6 p.m. and as late as 2 a.m..
