Ridgewood NJ, and OPRA request revealed that Village of Ridgewood was named as a defendant in a law suit filed by a , (hereinafter “Plaintiff) village resident who was the operator of a motor vehicle that was involved in an accident with a Village of Ridgewood sanitation truck on or about June 1, 2017 at about 5:55 am.

Ridgewood NJ, A Nissan Pathfinder collided with a Village of Ridgewood owned sanitation truck at approximately 6:00 AM on Thursday, 06/01. The crash occurred at the intersection of East Ridgewood Avenue and South Irving Street, Ridgewood. The Pathfinder’s driver sustained a neck injury and was transported to The Valley Hospital by a Ridgewood EMS ambulance. No injuries were reported by the sanitation truck driver. A crash related fluid spill was addressed by Ridgewood FD personnel. Ridgewood PD, EMS, and FD units responded to the scene. One (1) summons was issued to the sanitation truck driver. A flatbed tow truck removed the wrecked Nissan from the location. The sanitation vehicle was being repaired on the street.

Ridgewood NJ, No injuries were reported following an 8:45 AM Tuesday, 04/26 mishap in front of a single family home located at 486 South Pleasant Avenue, Ridgewood in which a Village of Ridgewood sanitation truck hit a tree, toppling a large portion of it onto the truck. A PSE&G electric division troubleshooter was called to the scene to assist in the removal of an electric wire that became entangled in the fallen tree section. South Pleasant Avenue was closed to traffic between Delaware Avenue and Dorchester Road while a tree crew and PSE&G worked. Electric, phone, and cable TV services to one (1) home were temporarily disrupted. Ridgewood PD and FD personnel were on the scene to ensure the safety of neighboring residents and students in a nearby school.

Ridgewood NJ, A Glen Rock Police Department uniformed patrol officer administered Narcan to the adult male driver of a Toyota Corolla following a head on collision between the Toyota and a Village of Ridgewood sanitation truck in front of 522 Lincoln Avenue, Hawthorne late Friday morning, 04/15. The Toyota driver, who was headed northbound on Lincoln Avenue, reportedly overdosed on an unknown substance just prior to the crash. An adult female driver of a BMW sedan stopped at the scene to assist the victim prior to the arrival of police officers. The occupant(s) of the sanitation truck, which was headed southbound on Lincoln to dump a load in Paterson, were not injured in the crash. The Toyota was removed from the scene by a flatbed tow truck. Damage to the sanitation truck was minimal. The overdose victim, otherwise uninjured, was transported by ambulance to The Valley Hospital. Hawthorne PD is investigating the incident.
