Ridgewood NJ, the proposed installation of a playground structure at Gypsy/Kings Pond Park is being objected to by an unnamed member of the Village Council due to the presence of geese near the targeted installation area. We were rather shocked when we heard about this objection, because the last time we looked, geese are rather ubiquitous throughout the Village of Ridgewood.
There’s a playground at Graydon Park and another one across the street at Vets Field. We see geese at both locations on a regular basis (except not at Graydon during June, July, and August). There’s also a playground at the Saddle River County Park (Ridgewood Duck Pond). Geese hang out there too. We’ve also observed geese on the field at Habernickel, just south of that playground.
So, what’s the real deal about this individual not wanting a playground structure installed at Gypsy/Kings Pond Park? Anyone know?

Will she be calling the cops now on geese that invade her personal space?
First it was the squirrels, now it’s geese. Get a life honey.
When I first heard her complain about this I thought she was concerned about kids drowning. Had no idea it was her fear of goose poop.
Where in the park would it go?
It sounds and looks great do it.
In addition to being hopelessly stupid, the twit is also a complete control freak. Just look at how she censored and banned everyone who would even question her manipulative narrative and outright lies on Facebook. Unfortunately for her, all her lies and shortcomings are being exposed one-by-one now that she is the public punching bag. It’s hard to run several competing lies when you can’t have an ironclad grip on controlling the narrative. Now the rest of us who were censored on her Facebook group can speak freely all day long here, other Facebook groups and at public meetings. The nervous breakdown is coming, and it’s going to be great entertainment.
She bit off more than she can chew…
The landscaping at the park is horrible and is evasive in that when in bloom you cannot see the water. How do you enjoy that? You cannot sit at the park bench and enjoy. Second the playground would be on a bed of wood chips which geese don’t hang around on.
What a terrible map.
Could they make the font any smaller..?
Didn’t even know there was a park there.
Oh. My. God.
Make her STOP.
She is insane
There is goose poop everywhere. Would she rather have kids playing in a playground right by Route 17???!
Do it, just do it. We love it. Spend the money.
It’s an unnamed council person !!!! Da, e everyone know who it is..
I can’t imagine being married to this.
Neither can I. As the old saying goes though, “There’s a seat for every ass.”
Come on. Don’t.
She is her own worst enemy
I have no opinion on this, but I will say that I’ve never seen a goose anywhere near the playgrounds in town. On open fields yes, but not on the playground itself.
Habernickel l has geese, a business, a playground, town sports, travel sports, park and rec sports, deer, dogs and Healthbarn and feed the front lines events, town garden ( not really if you know you know) and buses for field trips that barely fit in the parking lot for Healthbarn. why is gypsy pond so special?
Its just to cause chaos.
This is old news, 30 years ago they wanted to put a driving range at that location. We had a doctor that was willing to pay for everything, but politics got it into the way again. It would be nice to clean that shit all up I walk my dog through there. They are still remnants of an old house that used to be there. Close to the railroad tracks did Gypsy lived and danced.
Who,what, when, why, sit back and just let them do what ever they like. No is going to stop them. I’m making popcorn and watching the snow.
I agree that there should be no playground constructed there. Let this be wild open space with just a walking trail. There are so few places like this left in our over-developed suburbia.
