Ridgewood NJ, An adult female driver of a Ford Escape lost control of her vehicle after making a right turn and crashed head on into an unoccupied marked Ridgewood police cruiser shortly after 7:30 PM on Sunday, 10/25.
There were no injuries in the crash, which occurred in front of 26 South Broad Street, Ridgewood, but both vehicles sustained heavy front end damage and had to be removed from the scene by separate flatbed tow trucks. Ridgewood FD personnel were called to contain a crash related fluid leak.
Witnesses to the crash reported that the Escape was traveling at a high rate of speed and had just passed another vehicle moments before the crash occurred, but no summonses were issued at the scene. The driver and her passenger were observed sitting at an outdoor cafe as the crash was being investigated. The police car was parked at the location because officers were investigating the sudden death of a resident in a nearby apartment building.

  1. She was responding to a “hit” on her Ashley Madison account and lost track of her direction….

  2. I love it, “lost control!” She never had control, too busy texting.

  3. Some people are just too stupid to drive.

  4. Not for anything but is the patrol car in a legal parking spot?

  5. @1:09 did you read the article it said the police car was parked while investigating a death. Probably couldn’t find a parking space. And in the picture it looks like the car that hit it is driving on the wrong side of the road. I wonder if they got a ticket.

  6. 3:05 pm you read the article as well as i did, do not be too quick to criticize.

  7. No irony there. Nowhere for the police to park. 7:30pm on a Sunday. I thought I read on this site that it’s easy to park in town all the time?

  8. “Witnesses to the crash reported that the Escape was traveling at a high rate of speed and had just passed another vehicle moments before the crash occurred, but no summonses were issued at the scene”
Why no ticket issued?? Says high rate of speed and just passed another vehicle moments before crash. Wrong side of road!! check the vehicles black box.

  9. Black box….it a Ford Escape shitbox driven by a shithead and it has no black box…you watch too.many CSI programs…get a life

  10. Well if you are have emergency 4:29 I hope for your sake the try to find a legal parking space and put money in the meeter before they render you aid.

  11. No ticket issued at the scene. What the rush 5:49? Did you ever think that they want to make sure the have all their duck in a row so when the driver pleas not guilty she won’t get away with it. MV summons can be issued up to 30 days.

  12. How did she make a turn wide enough to hit a car parked on the other side of the road?

    Drug/alcohol test?

  13. I was there. She flew through the intersection at a high rate of speed, passing other cars, and rammed into the police car (she was on the wrong side of the road). She should have gotten a ticket for sure.

  14. You were there 10:00. Did you step up and tell the police that you are a witness

  15. @ 6:13 pm

  16. Which intersection–Hudson Street? Are we talking about the calm, no-traffic intersection where the parking garage is supposed to go?

Typing the address into Google brings up this:
