Jersey City NJ, Port Authority Police Officer Chris Johnson pulled over a car at the Holland Tunnel Tuesday morning and discovered more than $30,000 in unpaid tolls and fees at all three Hudson River crossings, the New Jersey Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway, according to Port Authority Police spokesman Joseph Pentangelo.
The woman, identified as Shakeema N. North, 38, of Orange NJ, had 5 different EZ pass accounts and $30,000 in unpaid tolls and resulting fees from more than 400 separate incidents of toll evasion,
North was arrested on a charge of theft of services and given a summons requiring her to appear in court next Tuesday.
Love it !
Who can blame her
$15 to cross a bridge to Manhattan is outrageous!
why would she be released ??
She seems smart enough to know better…

The tolls are a serious problem when it costs 40 dollars plus tolls and fuel just to travel to Staten Island from Ridgewood, and even more to from Brooklyn or even Westchester or the Bronx/ Queens for Work, Family or social events .routings via the city are rediculous traffic wise.you can’t easily commute to these Boroughs from bergen county.
Tolls need to be reset to 10 dollars max round trip through alternate funding by state city and consumer taxes .Trucks move consumer goods and that type of demand wear and tear has to be considered for even more general tax funding to help the average Joe and Jane.internet commerce has not even begun to pay its way on state or local levels
