  2. The late night traffic that this caused , waiting on the bridge over an hour past midnight while tired was equally if not more dangerous than people who may have been drinking.

    1. I was there last night as well. The traffic and delays that were caused were just absurd. Only a handful of cars seemed to be stopped as I passed through the checkpoint after waiting nearly 90 minutes. It is difficult to see how the benefit of the exercise outweighs the disruption.

  3. To obstruct a major artery of the metropolitan transportation system in the guise of DUI prevention is abusive and inconsiderate.
I am sure that of the many thousands of people subjected to this treatment the percentage supporting it was minuscule.
Words to describe the responsible parties (police) are not fit to be spoken.
These thought are in the minds of many.

  4. I got stuck in the traffic as well. It was awful. Not what was needed after a long week. Who’s idea was this anyway?

  5. Absolutely RIDICULOUS. Some of us were getting off work and just wanted to get home. The amount of traffic and backlog this caused on the bridge was inexcusable. All for what? For a cop to shine a flashlight on me for 1/10 of a second (what does that tell them, anyway?). UNCONSCIONABLE

  6. So what are the results? Was this effective?
