Lot of water leaks in town – – our infrastructure is aging and we need to take preventive steps. At the same time, we need to be prepared for the additional strain of the hundreds of new families who are going to be moving downtown once the projects are completed.
Is the council taking steps for this gathering storm?

  1. “Is the council taking steps for this gathering storm?” Yes they are. One step toward 10 steps backwards.

  2. This is about social engineering, you xenophobic racist bringing up all these excuses. Just get on with the program already.

  3. In regard to potential new users, I wouldn’t worry about their effect on water service — that will be fine. Sewer would be more of a concern.

  4. Yes, the VC is on top of it. They are sending leaf trucks in the middle of the night and during school rush hour. I wouldn’t be worried about sewer issues. We will have the garage who can hold a lot of shit in it. I can’t wait for the day when a huge sign “Welcome to Ridgewood City” goes up. It is so exciting to welcome with open arms new low income residents, undocumented immigrants, rich people from Patterson etc. Imagine the sight of a downtown with people of ALL colors, all languages and some showing their butt crack just like in good ole Bronx. It will be amazing. Who cares that our property values will go to the sewer and education will become crappier than it is. We want to be cool and trendy and in compliance with the program.Duh.

  5. I hear that there may a plan for valet parking for the apt owners in the CBD. Payed for by the Ridgewood Taxpayer .

  6. I do not care what race or socioeconomic background they are! That many human beings is too many for us to absorb. Calling it xenophobic totally misses the point.

  7. Yes the Dump pipe, Which we all a lobe to do.

  8. And where do they plan to park these valet cars? More public space? Along with the spaces now going to be taken for our Public Validation system? The concept is great, BUT with no space to park now w/o driving way past where you want to go, where are they going to find additional parking space? Isn’t there a realist in our town?

  9. So, I guess the answer to the original question is that we are totally unpreapred. If this council can’t get its act together – – and now – – they should all resign. T

  10. It almost seems that the VC, since they can’t change the huge number of new apartments coming to the downtown area, have decided to sit back and see how things will eventually work out. No planner can give any intelligent answers except for “the devil is in the details”. No one seems to have given any real attention to the details. We are stuck with the facts, but we should have a way to make the builders supply money towards, or actual completion of, all the misc small pieces that eventually add to the total. I know it seems an almost impossible task but it certainly would be better than just throwing your hands in the air and see what happens.
