Reader says, “We should have signs on our lawns praising Trader Joe’s minimum wage heroes more than anyone”

trader joes

“I recall Trader Joe’s closed for a couple of days after someone got tested positive during the height of the pandemic. Re-opened in no time, like nothing happened. Now running like well-oiled machine. Why? No union. Just hard-working employees and smart management focused on customer experience and resilience of the business.

We should have signs on our lawns praising Trader Joe’s minimum wage heroes more than anyone. They are the true heroes who carried hundreds of village households through pandemic!”

  1. TJ also stood firm against the cancel culture and said no chance we are changing names of certain products because they may make you feel uncomfortable

  2. “thank the lord all these poor and retired people on minimum wage have managers that would keep them working through an outbreak of Covid in their store so that I can get my joe joes without delay!” Figure it out. Unions protect workers. I can agree that the workers are the real heroes at least even if their management is exploiting them and their health for maximum profit line.

  3. TJ managers are working there too, equally exposed. It’s not like they are running the branch on zoom from FL.

I personally think that there’s no shame in hard work. Especially when it literally keeps customers fed. But of course if you’re a communist, all labour is forced and immoral. Wait, communists literally forced hundreds of millions of people to work! Many to death!

I’m confused now, is Trader Joe’s running during pandemic despite risk to employees, moral? I guess according to Ridgewood lib moralizers, it’s not. Yet they eat just like everyone else.

  4. I can’t help but wonder how many people praising these “minimum wage heroes” would argue against raising the minimum wage.

  5. Grateful for people who keep working in retail stores during the panic while against government supported unions and minimum wage laws. The magic of cogent reasoning.
