Ridgewood NJ, Halloween night brought out an estimated 72 million Americans, including Ridgewood’s own families and kids, who donned creative costumes to join in the beloved tradition of trick-or-treating!
Ridgewood’s Halloween celebration was extra special this year, with festivities throughout Village Hall, the Library, Ridgewood Water, The Stable, and the Ridgewood Fire Department. A huge thank you to our amazing costumed “greeters” and staff who made this inaugural event such a fantastic success. The Ridgewood Arts Foundation also joined the fun, stepping in as judges for our costume contest, adding even more excitement to the night.
Nationally, Halloween has never been bigger—or pricier. Americans collectively spent nearly $12 billion on costumes, candy, and decorations this year, with households averaging $51 just for sweets—a figure boosted by a 50% rise in cocoa prices. Over half of U.S. homes were decked out in Halloween decor, with around 30 million pumpkins adorning porches and countless “Skelly” skeletons making a statement in front yards.

Be lucky there weren’t any emergencies. Hard pressed to find an adult in the room.
Well, this explains why the leaf pickup schedule isn’t maintained.
Why is it in the past few years? There’s such problems with picking up the leaves, I hope the leaf cruise will be working every single Saturday like all the towns do. And don’t come back to us and say that there’s no money in the budget. Because if they can spend millions on Fields Fake grass They have money to pick up leaves on overtime.
The guy on the right looks like he works at the water department
Leaves on ground thru 10-22
Leaves picked up 10-30
If there is going to be gap of 1 wk+ it would be helpful to just publish the pickup date
The 9th (3) amigos mailer arrived today Omg stop the madness
Kwak plus 2 blanks!
I am sure bee man is nice guy but how can the Vice Chair of the Conservation Board and member of Green Ridgewood promote the leveling of hundreds of trees to install a synthetic field.
Seems like a guy talking out both sides
I hope the leaf Crews are working Saturday .
