Ridgewood NJ, a serious crash on South Maple Avenue in Ridgewood late Tuesday morning (February 11) resulted in emergency responders administering Narcan to the driver of a blue Mercedes-Benz sedan after the vehicle collided head-on with at least two utility poles. South Maple Avenue was closed near Stillwell Place due to the accident.
Multi-Town Crash Linked to Glen Rock Incidents
Reports indicate that before the Ridgewood crash, the same vehicle was involved in multiple collisions in Glen Rock, including one that damaged a Borough of Glen Rock DPW vehicle. The exact timeline of these incidents remains under investigation.
Emergency Response & Investigation
- Ridgewood FD/EMS transported the driver to Hackensack University Medical Center for treatment.
- PSE&G Electric Division crews responded quickly to replace the damaged utility poles. Fortunately, there were no reported power outages in the surrounding residential area.
- Ridgewood PD detectives are actively investigating the incident.
The crash underscores the ongoing concerns about impaired driving and the critical role of first responders in saving lives through interventions like Narcan administration.

I don’t understand why we revive these drug addicts. If they want to engage in dangerous behavior (especially when it risks injuring others), then let nature take its course. The world will be a better (and safer) place.
And, if we do revive with Narcan, then it should be done ONLY ONCE! You don’t get an unlimited number of mulligans…
How do we track if the person has had a Narcan recovery, perhaps a tattoo on the forehead!
While we’re at it, no CPR for smokers or fat people.
And especially no motorized scooters!
The telephone pole always wins.
Another one that didn’t make the ride back from P town. It’s either Maple or Lincoln ave every time.
