Ridgewood NJ, in Ridgewood, this election season saw four candidates vying for just three seats on the five-member Village Council. The council, a non-partisan body, selects a mayor from among its own members every two years. With the election wrapped up, early numbers provide insight into the direction Ridgewood voters may be leaning—but the final outcome could take some time.
Here’s the latest, (County) unofficial vote tally as of 10 p.m. on Election Day:
- HyunJu Kwak: 5,758 votes
- Francis “Frank” Mortimer Jr.: 6,888 votes
- Pamela R. Perron: 8,254 votes
- Paul Vagianos (incumbent mayor): 8,475 votes
Total Votes  29,375
The competition is close, and as many voters mailed in ballots on Election Day itself, the final count may take several days to be confirmed.
Results are in and we’re all screwed now.
Huh ?
Very happy that Kwak is now out of politics!
Haha even though Kwak ddn’t claim victory, she is still a winner because of the fact that she is honest and hard working and didn’t stoop to the level that the slimy trio did. What has Frank Mortimer done except to be a puppet of Vagianos, just watch you will see. Considering all of the marketing and flyers and money Vagianos spent on him, he only got a little over a thousand votes than Kwak did.
Well, Ridgewood voters are stupid.
They overwhelmingly voted for the most unqualified presidential candidate in the last century.
So, what did you expect?
Surely you’re not saying Ridgewood voters are stupid AND rich?
Can we see a vote count for godsakes…?
Overrated town
Rest in peace, Ridgewood. Vagianos and his merry band of unanimous idiots will surely flush whatever decency we have left, down the toilet. Towns have gone bankrupt before and it can happen again. Winograd was just doing the layup “Welcome to expensive”
At this point the hell with it let them spend every penny that they have and that they can get and make the whole town real nice, and then I’m gonna have to borrow from the state. At least everything will be repaired replaced and looks very nice. you just have no money. It’s like living in a big mansion on the west side of town, eating macaroni and cheese, and bologna sandwiches, OK you could have a TV dinner too believe me I seen that, how many parties I went to in the 80s on the west side big beautiful homes big beautiful cars going to a party and they have no furniture. All junkie beat up garbage furniture.
Wow the all the parks will be filled with Bees. Bees for everyone. Who cares about the budget and taxes. Get the bees out!!!!
Confirms my suspicions that the WASPs still run the town..
Keep dreaming.

Why do we allow the village to spend crazy amount on unnecessary items? For example, the pavilion at Habernickel. Did they actually need to aoprove something that costs $350K? Absolutely. Not, but because Vagianos is friends with the tebant, healthBarn eho rubs a 591c3 and a budibess 24/7 out of tgat soace for literasly no rent, full garage, full kitch, waser/dryer and more, that’s what they get. They could have gotten a $10K pavilion if it was only a matter of a lighting shelter which us how it was portrayed. But that wouldn’t have been good enough, and they could have spent the money on other things that are important. tangible, like the bus stop or other items in the CBD. Unfortunately, this council does not think with their head.
My suggestion would be to put that huge amount of money toward the foot bridge. The foot bridge is a safety issue. The pavilion is a novelty and no where els in town. It will be used by the business in the park in Lue of all the white tents that HB tenant puts up everyday causing the park to look like a flea market, disgusting, but why would would she care she doesn’t live in town she just makes the BIG BIG bucks having a business in town
