Ridgewood NJ, One (1) summons was issued in connection with a two (2) vehicle crash at the intersection of Greenway Road and Highland Avenue in Ridgewood on Friday afternoon, 02/10. Ridgewood firefighters used the “Jaws of Life” to free a passenger from a Nissan that was broadsided by a Jeep. Both occupants of the Nissan were transported by separate ambulances to a local hospital for treatment. Ridgewood PD was assisted by Glen Rock PD at the scene. Ridgewood FD and EMS personnel were also put into service, as was a paramedic team from The Valley Hospital. Both vehicles were heavily damaged and removed by a tow truck. Interestingly, the only 911 call reporting the accident was received from an occupant of the Nissan. No one in the neighborhood where the accident occurred called the police to report it, nor did the driver of the Jeep. Go figure.

  1. Ridgewood FD – Always there when we need them.

  2. So someone is trapped in a car and has to be cut out using the jaws of life, whatever the jaws of life are. And no one called? Not even the driver of the car who hit her? She had to call for her self? The driver of the other car should be ticketed for that, as well as for slamming into her.

  3. slow down,

  4. The facts are that the neighbor outside ran over to the wreck to see if anyone was hurt, and the driver of the Jeep was instructed by him to call 911 immediately. Not every person on the planet does outside work with a cell phone in the pocket.

  5. It’s the same old “I don’t want to get involved” routine. Welcome to Ridgewood.
