Ridgewood NJ, The Ridgewood Historical Society and The Woman’s Club of Ridgewood will co-sponsor a Historic Holiday House Tour to commemorate the 125th Anniversary of The Village of Ridgewood.
The tour, which will run Sunday, December 8, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., includes seven Ridgewood homes built between 1880 and 1930 and spanning a variety of architectural styles. The homes’ interiors are as varied as their exteriors.
Local designers and retail shops are providing holiday enhancements and décor to each home, and light refreshments will be provided by local businesses to add to the tour’s festive holiday theme.
Proceeds from the event support two great Ridgewood institutions: The Ridgewood Historical Society, which operates The Schoolhouse Museum on East Glen Avenue, and the Woman’s Club.
“House tours have been the primary source of funding for The Woman’s Club charity grants for over 15 years,” said Ridgewood resident Kristen Plumley, who serves as a board member for the Woman’s Club. “Proceeds help the club support charities that serve women and children in need.”
Proceeds will also help the Ridgewood Historical Society continue to provide educational and entertaining exhibits as well as make much-needed upgrades to the School House Museum. Tickets for the event are $50 ( ($15 for students age 12 –18) and can be purchased online at www.ridgewoodhistoricalsociety.org or from local merchants, Mango Jam, Town & Country Apothecary, Backyard Living, Goffle Brook Farm & Garden Center starting November 1.
