Kind of bold to be attempting a break-in in broad daylight and in a busy (Wilkes) area.
That being said, that’s the best of the 6 Wilkes stores. Glen Rock’s store is a close second.
Most break-ins occur during the day when people are not home. Someone wanting to burglarize your home does not want to encounter anyone, they they just want your valuables. Generally non-violent actors who will run if encountered.
Their goal is to be in/out in a few minutes. They generally certain rooms . . . mostly the primary bedroom. They take items that are of high value (jewelry, cash, etc.) that they can run off quickly with.
When my house was robbed, the burglars were very selective. My jewelry was in a folio which they could have easily taken BUT they went through and picked out a few choice pieces that could be stuffed in a pocket. There were several high value, larger items (they could have easily been carried out in their arm) that they passed on. Traveling light. Whatever fits in the pockets.
In and out quickly.
This is very unsettling. I hope they catch them.
Diversity is our strength
This happened on 2/15 and yet the photos and information were not posted until 2/22. I can’t imagine how the public can help at this point. Anyone know why the Facebook group Ridgewood Police Blotter does not make current information available? For instance, there were 2 home robberies in my neighborhood during Christmas week and nothing was posted. I am not suggesting giving the exact address of the crime or what was taken, I am suggesting putting out general information to raise awareness. Great they put this out there this time, but those perps and that car is long gone from the area.
Because this didn’t happen. And neither did those other two robberies you’re feverishly blabbing on about. I’ll call the nurse. We’ll up your meds. Now shh. There are no robberies. You just had a little nightmare. It’s all going to be fine.
The police need to release these notices IMMEDIATELY when something like this happens.
Presumably, these two weren’t stupid enough to use their own vehicle to commit this crime. It’s likely that this is a stolen car.
It’s a week later. Lots of video storage disappears after a few days…
I hope they catch these maggots and punish them severely! (preferably in draconian fashion)
Ridgewood PD asleep at the wheel once again.
Pathetic
maybe the righteous entitled dumb arse’s can stop leaving their keys in their cars
then they won’t be able to claim victimhood
low information voters have destroyed this state
Or is it low intelligence voters
Some thoughts….
1) I doubt these two just randomly selected a house. There has been lots of construction in that neighborhood during the past year. It’s possible that the workers were observing the comings/goings of the house that was burglarized and knew when to strike (only they miscalculated and it didn’t go as planned). Construction workers around here are usually Latino (and the article mentions that the perps were probably “Hispanic”). Get a list of contractors and start interrogating. Do any workers have a maroon Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo?
2) There is a house about 200 feet away on East Glen that has a security camera literally pointing directly at East Glen from a great angle. Get this footage and hope that it gives the front license plate. Get footage from all houses on the way to Ho-Ho-Kus (there are probably dozens). Unless the perps took a side road, then there are lots of houses on that route that could have valuable footage.
3) Did that Jeep approach Wilkes from Route 17 South along East Glen? If yes, then there is probably lots of footage from along the highway that will give the license plate info.
4) That Jeep appears to be a 2022 or 2023 Laredo. How many maroon Jeeps were sold in NJ during those years? Get a list and do some digging.
All of this presumes that the Jeep was not stolen…
When these two are caught (and hopefully they are), I advocate the type of punishment they do in the Middle East: cut off their hands.
Bruce, I’m sending a team up the Nung River to terminate your command. You’re trying to win this war, and we can’t allow that.
Post of the day !
Brilliant! You DO think my methods are unsound!
