Ridgewood NJ, Ridgewood Mayor Vagianos, and Council majority, claim Schedler Property  is a perfect location for a field because there is no flooding. So why does this Village of Ridgewood notice state (once again) that the Schedler neighborhood floods?

  1. Really well engineering should of inform you of this.

  2. They are all asleep at the controls.

  3. Our Village Manager is costing taxpayers about $350k a year and is also another very expensive VC mistake.

    1. yup – get ready for big tax increase to support Vagianos campaign manager. He was mayor’s campaign manager for his assembly run before he was hired for this job.

  4. These turds are “unaware” of a lot of things.

    1. That’s a little unfair to turds!
      I. Turds know that they are always there to serve us (& never the other way around – save the odd push and grunt)
II. They deliver value by removing waste
III. They further deliver value after they “leave office” by providing nutrients for our eco-system (even so far as carrying away the poisons from our water and sports fields that the pols allowed)
III. They might smell a little at times, but are driven not to outstay their purpose after their jobs are done, thus can be forgiven their malodorous nature (unlike most village electeds)

  5. any comments from baseball leadership who send out “if we only had Schedler” emails each time vets/rhs field flood?

  6. The VC and especially the Mayor have been dreaming up thus idea re the field for years now!! and cant give it up

  7. And as the Village Manager says when he isn’t busy calling balls and strikes with Matt, he will only pave West Saddle River road, full of pits and potholes, when the plan for Schedler is approved which may take a while. So in the meantime, those poor neighbors can suffer. It is only a forgotten neighborhood because there is no field over there.

  8. Simple question here…has the Schedler property where the proposed field is going been a flooding issue in the past? If not, STFU.

And as Ricky Bobby would say, “with all due respect”.

    1. A flood is a flood and turf doesn’t absorb!

    2. Yes it has, stop being a tool. Once those trees are removed and plastic is put down, what do you think will happen. Wasn’t it a parks and rec guy who said it was boggy at best. Maybe you should STFU and hope Ricky Bobby doesn’t plow overr that berm from Route 17.

    3. Tweedledum, try to keep up here. Yes, the point is that the Schedler property (where the Tweedledees want to put the field) ALWAYS FLOODED. This well known fact, which everyone keeps bringing up with proof, continues to be intentionally ignored.

  9. It’s so embarrassing

  10. Spend some more money in the flood zone .
Just think of you want to a bank for a loan to develop invest money in a flood zone, what would that financial Institute say to you? I’m sorry this is not going to work. Listen, investment will not bounce. It would just float away. And good luck getting an insurance policy.

    1. That property does not flood. Move on.

      1. Dear John,

It’s nothing personal but this isn’t going to work out. You are right, we should move on. The facts show the property does flood and denying the truth won’t change anything.

      2. and the border is secure

  11. Some of us think the village should too much better with, regarding cleaning out, storm, drains and waterways throughout the village. Because we have noticed in the past few years. They have not kept up with maintenance like I did years ago.

    1. Agree. Have not seen a street sweeper out in years. I used to see them every two weeks or so.

    2. Agreed. Leaf pickup problems have not helped with drainage either. The vacuum trucks shoot leaves right back into the street. The leaf plows push over the curb. Storm drains clogged everywhere. This is not the village it once was.

  12. I brought this up months ago in my comments to the Council. Having lived in Ridgewood all my life (born here) I remember flooding from David and Fllotd and Irene etc that caused havoc up to West Saddke River Road.

    1. That property does not flood. Move on.

  13. Just a thought does emergency services unit own a boat. Just in case for an emergencies or do they have access to Burton County military vehicle that can go through high waters.

  14. I am not a supporter of the Schedler pan, I own property on Kingsbridge, and have posted many times that this plan is a HUGE safety issue and is badly out of character for this forgotten neighborhood. It is not a good plan, and it is wrong. However, this property does not flood – not even close. Credibility is important and the truth matters.

    1. Sorry “John” but I was over there day of this rain storm and it was a muddy mess. I would say there was a 25 ft wide “pond” right smack dab where that plastic field will be situated and with no trees, who knows where tge water will then go. Don’t worry though, Chris Rutishauzer took out flood insurance on that property just in case!! Maybe that turf will bubble up too when there is another flash flood. Let’s just keep rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic.

      1. Take a pic next time…

      2. My name is “John”, and the property does not flood. Water will pool there, like any other property after a heavy rain. I don’t disagree with you at all. However, the area does not ‘flood’. It must be 20 feet above the river at its highest, and that is the truth. Tell the truth. It matters.

  15. John. You are wrong. It was a flooded mess on Monday. Fact.

    1. The property does not ‘flood’. Water will pool there, like almost any other property after a heavy rain. I don’t disagree with you at all. However, the area does not ‘flood’. It must be 20 feet above the river at its highest, and that is the truth. Tell the truth. It matters.

      1. where will the water go once it’s turfed? The water that’s creating the muddy conditions now?

  16. The Mayor is attenuated and should be removed from the business of Ridgewood Village. His effectiveness has diminished. Let’s clean slate Ridgewood now before it is too late.

  17. The Village is not weathering the storms very well now are they. In more ways than one.

  18. Unfortunately there are already serious drainage issues for those neighbors whose properties abut the Schedler land. Everyone thinks they are an expert, including Chris R who was the one who said to cut down all of the trees inuding the giant maple, and this plan for over development will just cause a nightmare scenario. Also turf near the private well water is reckless.
