Ridgewood NJ, On March 8, 2023, Resolution 23-108 was approved by the Village Council . Resolution 23-108  Establish Waivable Policy for End Time of Village Council Meetings – establishes a policy for Village Council meetings to end at 11:00 pm, which can be waived by a consensus of a majority of the Village Council.

At the Village Council Workshop, on February 22, the proposed resolution was discussed prior to it being voted into place in March.  Among other quotes from Mayor Vagianos at the Workshop were the following:

” We can vote to go over.  We don’t want to be cutting people off.”
” We obviously wouldn’t want to curtail public comment.”

On Wednesday night April 12, 2023, with a crowd filling the room and people lining up to speak as early as 6:00 PM, Mayor Vagianos cut the first public comment session at 10 in-person speakers, leaving a raft of people floating.  Councilwoman Reynolds pleaded for those waiting to have their chance to speak, and the Mayor rudely and emphatically stated NO, that the session would be ending.

Many waited through the meeting to have their opportunity to speak at the second public-comments session.  When the second session began, the Mayor announced: “It is 10:00, we will go until 11.”  And, true to his word he cut the meeting at 11:01  He stated that those waiting on hybrid access would not be heard.

So, Mr. Mayor, where was the consensus of a majority of the Village Council to extend, or not extend, the final public comment session?  What gave you the right to decide this solo?  Why are you not following the Resolution which is in place?

  1. He is so rude. So obnoxious. To Lorraine (because everyone loves her as much as they hate him). And to the public (because everyone despises him). Like a little Napoleon, lashing out. Paul, your Elba is coming.

    1. such an insecure man

      1. It almost looks like he’s had plastic surgery?

  2. So we have hybrid access but it does no good because your comment is heard. Great Job councilperson who insisted we have it. We have nothing, I so miss Susan.

  3. Was driving by his restaurant last night. I keep scratching my head how someone who has major business in town can be a mayor. It is a clear conflict of interest. His decisions will be driven by his personal interests. RW voters are …………… Enjoy this parrot. Uh, and please don’t forget to drink the water at his restaurant with all the PFAS and the other good stuff. He probably doesn’t believe in water filtering.

  5. You people have no idea how much better things would be if Melanie was sitting up there instead of Paul. What a mistake was made, letting him get on the council. She would never have stood for this. This is absolute idiocy everything that he does is illegal, unlawful, outrageous. She was standing a very good chance until that idiot Weber nuked her chances.

    1. Let’s face it, Melanie was her own worst enemy.

    2. Ms. Weber didn’t change anyone’s mind. Ms. Hooban was a loose cannon in most people’s mind. Many who were voting FOR Melanie were doing so as a vote against Paul.

With that said, Ms. Hooban has matured in the past few years, her circumstances have changed since her last run and I would very much like to see her run again. I believe that she is one of the few people out there who truly know Ridgewood and will put our best interest first and foremost.

  6. Dude? This is the guy that fought so hard for hybrid meetings, as did the other three wastes, and he cuts off hybrid access without anyone objecting. It’s barely three months into this side show.
I don’t care where anyone stands on the Schedler issue, but this kind of proves Vag to be a lying hypocrite. Hey Vag, how’s that council seat working out for ya?

  8. The sports people tried to stack the decks literally by saving space for their friends to get on line late to speak and then tried to bully others who had an opposing view. Not nice and even if you don’t agree with everyone’s position, you can still be civil.

    1. And then one of the dad’s in favor of a 4th 60×90 field in Ridgewood, pulled out the crocodile tears. Get out the popcorn.

      1. The crybaby did NOT mention he is the Executive VP of RBSA. That’s kind of an important detail that you want to mention when you’re testifying at a public meeting concerning the construction of a baseball field.

        1. The fix is in.

Ridgewood has become like the little town in the south where the mayor does the bidding for all of his friends.

Keep an eye on Fast Eddie. Surely he is involved this Schedler scheme.

  10. They look, they only want to give you a few minutes at the council meeting to talk, so be it call channel 12 news that’s all

  11. Disgusting! Winograd is a farce. Weitz, Perron and Vagianos are despicable. Lorraine is the only independent thinker that is truly an elected official of the people.

  12. Let’s not deflect on the millions Paul V has collected from feed the front lines. See a sample of receipts here.
