Ridgewood NJ, on August 16, 2022, Ptl. Bigos and Ptl. Van Dyke along with members of the Ridgewood Fire Department dropped in on Camp Sunshine to show the campers our Emergency Vehicles. Ptl. Bigos and Ptl. Van Dyke explained the functions of Patrol as well as gave a tour of our vehicles allowing the campers to sit in the cars and even make a few arrests!
Camp Sunshine, founded in 1960, is a summer recreational program for children and young adults with multiple disabilities. The Camp is open each summer for 9 weeks (Mon. – Fri., 9:00 A.M.-3:30 P.M.) beginning the third Monday in June and running through the third Friday in August. Camp Sunshine is unique among its peers because of its corps of volunteers who provide one-on-one care to its campers. Each volunteer has the opportunity to assist one camper in various camp activities throughout the day.
