  1. Approve spending on the Money Pit aka Schedler.

  2. Median home values in Ridgewood keep dropping according to Zillow data, from $711,400 one year ago to $707,100 today… and are forecast to drop another 1% in the next one year. Anecdotal chats with local RE agents suggest closing prices relative to asking price are in free fall. Michael Barker knows he’s going to busy with appeals to Village tax assessments. Property taxes are tied to assessed values. And yet this Council keeps spending money and partying like it’s 1999!!!

  3. Spend, spend, spend! Can’t this Council ever just say “no” to the Ridgewood Police Dept? They’re better equipped than the US military. And why can’t the four other Council members just say “no” to Knudsen on her passion project Schedler? How on earth does the proposed “Schedler House Rehabilitation” benefit all Villagers? We still have third world roads, messy public parks, parking lots that need repacking, etc. And yet rehabilitating a house that should be torn down – on a property that should be sold to developers – takes priority? Elks HQ renovation boondoggle is the same waste… this Council is out of control. Shame this blog won’t call them out!

  4. Did anyone notice #45? A gun range?!

  5. Do other towns have shooting ranges for police? I thought practice shooting was done at authorized shooting ranges for policemen.

But bet your bottom dollar that Knudsen will authorize it so that her sons and his police friends can have shooting fun. At our tax dollar. And I kinda think deep in my gut that having a shooting range in town can make the police a little more prone to shooting a human or a family dog. Like shooting the mentally ill or shooting an aggressive dog instead of running away from it or tranquilizing it.

  6. You people in Ridgewood better get the hell out while you can.Your home is being overtaxed the price of the home is going down your services are not the same why would you stay in a pound like that. Look around open your eyes.

  7. I cannot believe how much money we are spending at this site. That house is a piece of shit. We need roads repaved. Why are we dumping millions of dollars into this location For what.

  8. The average value of a house in Ridgewood is far below what the Council wants to spend on Schedler. I guess the “Council”–who definitely do not listen to “Counsel” feel if they break the remediation (?) Rebuilding into smaller parts people won’t notice that the total cost will be close to, if not over, a million dollars! It has no use–certainly not for the occupants of the greater part of Ridgewood as “You can’t get here from there”–high speed exit from RT 17N with an exit from the parking lot almost on top of it. W. Saddle River Road is extremely narrow, not even wide enough to be legally divided into 2 directions and when RT 17N is blocked by an accident further north–frequently- masses of cars exit from 17 onto it to escape the traffic jams and we residents can barely get onto it without extreme danger of being hit. That is a perfect thing to happen while cars with little kids are being dropped off at the driveway or their parents are trying to get out of the driveway.
    Disaster Thy Name is SCHEDLER!

  9. How long is this bullshit gonna be going on. Between that home and at land it’s a mass. This project is going to take many years and millions of dollars. And then when it’s all done who’s going to maintain it. Because we do not have the personal now. The parks department suppose will be responsible. That’s going to be a big joke because the person in charge of Parks can’t even keep the Porta John at Maple field clean.

  10. Just trying to maintain the value of homes across the street. Self. Serving.

  11. You mean Jack Traina’s house? Isn’t he Knudsen’s father? And didn’t he donate to both of her campaigns for Village Council? Conflict of interest? Same with all of the spending on the Ridgewood police shooting range and other excessive equipment like more brand new, fully-equipped 2019 Chevy Tahoes with tinted windows so we the taxpayers can’t see Guido Pete texting underage girls? Is it some sort of payback to the RPD for hiring Knudsen’s sons? Just like using Ridgewood Water’s capital budget to buy and renovate the Elks building in the CBD for $5mn+ all in? Just to free up space for the RPD in Village Hall? Why are taxpayers paying for all of this to satisfy Knudsen’s personal, family desires and benefit her father and sons?

  12. How about spending some money at the bus lot. That bus station looks like 100 years old. It deafly needs to be restored or rebuilt. It’s filthy it’s rotten the lights don’t work wood is falling down come on this is Ridgewood not Newark. Actually in Newark they have better. Very embarrassing for us .
