Ridgewood NJ, More data on who was harassing the people across from Habernickel that complained about Health Barn USA.
The Village Hall caught again attacking residents who question the council majority’s decisions .
Once again the Village Hall is caught bullying neighbors .

Although one page indicates that an “anonymous phone call” triggered the NJDEP inspection, another page in the report specifically identifies Christopher Rutishauser as the complainant. A recent OPRA request offers proof positive Rutishauser call led to the complaint.

  1. With all the nonsense that goes on is there anything that can be done about those in power other than bitch and moan?

  2. Chris Rutishauser is a paid village, big-government, big-brother thug. He’s never met a fine he didn’t want to levy against a village resident. Until the mayor and VC toss this guy out on his ass, the beatings will continue.

  3. James / Boyd, are you able to share the full docs sent back after the OPRA request?

  4. On July 1, 2012, when the mayor and deputy mayor had forced through reelection to the formerly no-big-deal titles that they sorely craved by bringing in Safari Girl on remote, and many attendees were silently feeling angry/sad/sucker-punched, loud applause began from the back of the room. I turned around quickly to see who had started it: Christopher Rutishauser, Village Engineer. Saw with my own eyes and not kidding.

  5. …sorry, that was 2014, not 2012.

  6. James at 11:44am-
    But not in this case?

  7. Why don’t you file an OPRA request yourself John V.?

  8. Hi 10:12pm-
Habernickel’s not really an issue I’m not too passionate about personally, but thank you for the suggestion. In this case, James wrote “Although one page indicates that an “anonymous phone call” triggered the NJDEP inspection, another page in the report specifically identifies Christopher Rutishauser as the complainant. I just thought it would be interesting to see the report in addition to James’ summary.

  9. Habernickel is a big issue, even if it is not your particular neighborhood.

  10. 10:57am John V – Since Habernickel’s not an issue for you (concerned citizens) – that’s what allows the government to function the way it does.

The price was set per one realtor’s suggestion.
The lease was signed for 6 YEARS!!
The change of use was done without informing nearby residents (or any town residents) (most residents are required to notify the neighbors in 200 feet radius.
Change of use was agreed to before obtaining approvals from County / Open Space “Commission”? (whatever its called).
Change of use requires public hearing. The public hearing took place AFTER the change was already promised.

  11. 12:08pm and 1:40pm-
I totally agree that the process sounds sketchy. No argument there. But all I said was that it was an issue that I’m personally not too passionate about, thus I wouldn’t be submitting an OPRA request to do my own research. This is just a limited time in the day thing. We all need to pick and choose what we focus the most on. I’m happy to read about the issue, so thanks to you all for your work on investigating such issues that you are passionate about yourselves. The HealthBarn program sounds pretty good to me overall. I’m sure there are issues on traffic and parking that have some impact on the neighbors. Hopefully they can be mitigated somehow. But if not, then perhaps it’s not the right location.
