Ridgewood NJ, Saurabh Dani reported on the Facebook page “It takes a Ridgewood Village ,that at Monday’s Ridgewood Board of Education meeting ,even after questions were raised the Ridgewood School Board charged  ahead with bath room renovations at Ben Franklin and George Washington Middle School .  The main thrust seemed to be the small window of time available for construction. For some reason Dr. Fishbein insisted that the bath room project could not be tacked on to the referendum .

Dani said ,  “This was supposed to be approved quietly as part of “consent” agenda. Mr James A Morgan asked to pull it out and have a discussion on it (Thank you!). Mr. James A Morgan and Mr Cristopher Kaufman voted NO, as rest of the board members weren’t ready to wait for JUST 2 weeks until Mr Morgan’s and Mr Muhamud’s questions could be answered before committing to a 480K project which could have been done as part of the upcoming referendum and state would have paid 34% of it.”

Several residents suggested to the Ridgewood blog that the BOE may be feeling the heat and maybe they were not so confident , and the huge referendum will fail at the ballot box .

  1. Mr. Dani should be applauded for his efforts. I honestly wish that a greater number of Ridgewood residents would have the courage to ask very insightful and well-informed questions, and to push back on assumptions. Thank you, Mr. Dani.

  2. Why not wait? It’s only 2 weeks! What does Fishbein get out of this to push it through? He has to lose something if HIS agenda is not met IMMEDIATELY!
