An upscale steakhouse with two other New Jersey locations will be moving into the Chestnut Street location once occupied by the now-closed Blend nightclub.
It will take at least six months for the new tenant, Roots Steakhouse, to move in, pushing the store’s opening date to next fall at the earliest.
“I think they’re a very good addition to Ridgewood. Ridgewood doesn’t have an upper-end steakhouse venue. It’s a unique addition to the town,” said landlord Ed Sullivan, the former co-owner of Blend. “I anticipate they’ll be quite successful.”
A substantial renovation of the interior and exterior is scheduled, and, with preliminary architectural drawings complete, some work is already under way.
