Ridgewood NJ, a dramatic two-car collision early Sunday, November 3, at the intersection of West Saddle River Road and Terhune Road in Ridgewood, left a Honda sedan crashed against a single-family home and sent the driver of a Tesla to the hospital.
According to Ridgewood Police, both vehicles were headed south on West Saddle River Road when the incident occurred. The Tesla attempted a left turn onto Terhune Road as the Honda driver tried to pass, resulting in a collision that forced the Honda off the road and into the side of a nearby house.
Ridgewood Fire Department responded promptly, using a winch to carefully pull the Honda away from the home to free its driver, who was trapped inside. Fortunately, the Honda’s passenger managed to exit the vehicle without assistance. Meanwhile, the injured Tesla driver was transported to a local hospital via Ridgewood Fire Department EMS for further evaluation.
Both vehicles sustained significant damage and were later towed from the scene. During their investigation, Ridgewood Police issued several summonses to the Honda driver, who was found to be driving on a suspended license. Officers also took the Honda driver into custody due to active arrest warrants from another Bergen County municipality.
This intersection has previously raised safety concerns, underscoring the importance of caution when navigating turns or passing maneuvers, especially on well-trafficked routes like West Saddle River Road. Ridgewood Police continue to monitor traffic safety in the area.

“This intersection has previously raised safety concerns”
Indeed.
And this intersection is literally about 5 feet from the proposed entrance to Paulie’s PFAS Sports Complex/Mutilated Forest fantasy at Schedler.
Could this council of clowns, and the soccer bunnies and sports dads chasing glory days that never were, be any more clueless?
It is a bad idea and so dangerous but it won’t be until someone is really injured that anything will really be done.
I keep telling the kids, when your license is suspended, drive carefully.
Putting an oversized field on a small street is not going to bode well. The people making decsions are not using their brains.
Wino and Sleepy Evan can alternate shifts as crossing guards.
Don’t worry.
Don’t look out for yourself.
Trust the driver to drive safely and follow the law.
If they do not, you can lay blame on them …. from heaven
Keep making excuses for yourself … from Hell.
Must be nice that Winograd is worried about turtles crossing the street over at Habernickle park but over on the other side of town, neighbors will to have to hop, skip and jump across the street from the Schedler property to avoid getting hit. The saying, you can’t fix stupid certainly applies here.
Thank heavens for Chris R’s soil eye testing method.
This greasy mayor and his council of clowns will be long gone and living in cheezy Florida condos by the time the NJDEP is thru.
And SHPO isn’t going to budge either.
Back to the 2017 plan.
