Ridgewood NJ, according to Gary Kolesaire is the President of Ridgewood Chamber of Commerce,” When people who have their skin in the game are speaking out about the risk of a regular implementation of the pedestrian mall, we should listen to them.”
The Coalition for Downtown Ridgewood Businesses made up of over 50 businesses in Ridgewood endorsed Mayor Susan Knudsen and former Fire Chief James Van Goor. It seems the people with the most to lose or gain by a pedestrian mall trust the judgement of the current mayor and the former fire chief .
Kolesaire explained, “This year a compromise for a monthly pedestrian mall was rejected by the handful of restaurants that benefit the most . I recently conducted a survey asking who would choose to keep Ridgewood’s downtown a normal business district. Nearly 50 local retailers ,services , and restaurants owners have signed to date . We consider this essential to our survival .” He goes on “We are grateful to Mayor Knudsen for upholding the original 2020 agreement and for her unwavering advocacy and support.”

Ridgewood Guild, Chamber of Commerce – organizations we’ve heard of. No one has ever heard of the Coalition. No website, no place to validate the “50 businesses”. Another Knudsen shadow.
Why are you censoring people asking what this organization is? No one has heard of it. Don’t we have the right to know?
The president of the chamber is leading this organization/grass roots committee, sounds pretty legit unless you are all of a sudden calling him a liar. I would say this is more creditable that Jeanne Johnsons grand standing lately
Unless you get the nod from Pauly V, and the Democrat Machine, you don’t exist.
It’s real.
It would not be surprising if the business owners who signed the survey hesitate to share their names because of the incredible amount of harassment they would be likely to face on social media from people who apparently have little better to do than to jump all over anyone they disagree with.
Gary is the best spokesperson for downtown. Paul V has bullied to many of us. Thank you Gary and I hope Knudson and Van Goor win.
Jeanne Johnson is a pushy know it all who thinks she runs the Village. Large and in charge.
No thanks.
Love the Ridgewood Tobacco Shop. Barbara and Gary are the best!
Thank you for keeping your store in Ridgewood.
