Hackensack NJ, the Crow’s Nest, a family-owned restaurant and pub that has been a fixture of Hackensack’s dining scene for nearly a century, is closing its doors. Andreas and Angela Hajiyerou, who have been the proprietors of this enduring 400-seat restaurant and catering venue for the past 31 years, have made the decision to sell the property and will permanently close the establishment on October 24th.
The story of the Crow’s Nest restaurant began in 1974 when Andy Hajiyerou opened Andy’s Fishery, supplying high-quality, top-of-the-catch fish to local restaurants. His dedication to quality, his genuine approach, and his deep knowledge of the industry quickly made him a respected figure among local eateries. Encouraged by this early success, he took a leap of faith and purchased the Crow’s Nest restaurant in July 1991. Fast forward nearly 30 years, and the gamble had paid off handsomely. Believing in the importance of family values in building a successful business, Andy has involved his sons Evan and Peter, daughter Eleni, and wife Angela in running the establishment. The Crow’s Nest was indeed a family affair deeply rooted in tradition.
