Ridgewood NJ, according to the Village Manager Heather Mailander ,the Village of Ridgewood currently has a response rate to the U.S. Census of 81%. Our goal is a 100% response rate. U.S. Census takers are currently going door to door to conduct the U.S. Census, for those who have not yet filed their census form. They will have identification badges to identify them as U.S. Census takers.
When you respond to the census, your answers are kept anonymous. They are used only to produce statistics. In addition, the U.S. Census Bureau is bound by law to protect your answers and keep them strictly confidential. The law ensures that your private information is never published and that your answers cannot be used against you by any government agency or court.
The Village of Ridgewood was undercounted in the 2010 Census, by over 20%, and our Federal funding and representation in the U.S. Congress is dependent upon accurate Census numbers for New Jersey. Therefore, it is very important that you fill out your Census form as soon as possible, so that Ridgewood has a complete count.
