Ridgewood NJ, in a major win for women’s sports and a huge shift on Title IX enforcement, the Trump administration’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR) announced that it will enforce the 2020 Title IX rules rather than the Biden administration’s expanded 2024 version, which included gender identity under sex discrimination protections.

In a “Dear Colleague” letter released on Friday, the Department of Education’s OCR stated that it will:
✅ Follow the 2020 Title IX Rule, which defines sex as “the objective, immutable characteristic of being born male or female.”

“With the announcement that the Department of Education intends to uphold the 2020 Title IX rules, it is guaranteed that Biden’s Title IX rewrite will no longer have sway or put women and girls in danger by letting boys in girls’ bathrooms or locker rooms.”
Hermann emphasized that this move protects biological women and upholds Trump’s promise to define sex based on biology.
Tyler Coward – FIRE (Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression)
Coward praised the return of due process protections for students, stating:
“Restoring the Trump administration’s rules means that students can once again feel secure that their rights to due process and free speech will be respected while ensuring administrators have the tools they need to punish those who engage in sexual misconduct and harassment.”

I agree with this reversal. There are two genders, period.
There are two sexes. Gender is a grammatical category.

This is the classic Leftist position. Yes, the numbers are small, but would you still hold this position if your daughter was competing at the highest level, having trained all her life, only to be beaten by a physically stronger and bigger biological male? You argument is no different from saying murder or plane crashes are okay, because they only affect a miniscule number of the population.
Plane crashes aren’t OK but they happen. Murder isn’t OK but it’s been happening long since before, and obviously well after, the first religio-legal proscriptions against it. The presidential pen won’t sign away plane crashes any more than murders. If you think you need the American president to sign common sense into being, you’ve already lost and will continue to lose in ways you can’t even imagine.
Now, shut down the gender reassignment clinics and pull the licenses of the quacks performing the surgeries and promoting the rot and you’d actually have something with teeth. They went after doctors during COVID for far less — for promoting alternative treatments and for noticing lots of inconvenient patterns — then lopping off body parts and putting kids on hormonal cocktails they’ll be slaves to for their rest of their (probably short and troubled) lives.
If you think that’s a leftist opinion, it’s probably time to reevaluate where you fall on the spectrum, and maybe even the other spectrum.
