Upper Saddle River NJ,the Upper Saddle River Police Department, Mayor Fardanesh, and Town Council had the pleasure of honoring USR resident, Dr. Robert Andtbacka with a Meritorious Service Award.
On March 11, at approximately 2 PM, Dr. Andtbacka was instrumental in the rescue and extrication of an accident victim on the northeast side of town. Upon witnessing the accident, Dr. Andtbacka ran from his home, avoided downed high voltage power lines, and climbed through an enormous fallen tree that struck the victim’s vehicle.
Dr. Andtbacka cared for the victim and remained by her side throughout the 35 minute extrication. Dr. Andtbacka’s selfless actions defined the epitome of both a “first responder” and a “neighbor.” Congratulations Dr. Andtbacka!
