Twp. of Washington NJ, on Tuesday April 18th at 10:00 AM, Veolia will be testing its Emergency Generation system at the Haworth Water Treatment facility. This backup power system keeps the plant in operation during major power outages.

To run the test, Veolia needs to completely disconnect from the power grid and then begin the process of switching to the backup system. This process takes approximately 20 minutes. The impact to customers should be minimal to none at all — and last for a very brief amount of time. Should there be any problems, Veolia will switch back to the commercial power grid.

As always we are working closely with the County Firefighting Officials for this event and they were informed directly by Bergen County OEM.
