Ridgewood NJ, earlier this week the Village filed letters of intent to apply for two Bergen County grants: a $235,000 grant to upgrade the lighting at Veterans Field and a $599,335 grant for restoration of the pedestrian tunnel at the Ridgewood Train Station. “We are committed to aggressively pursuing grants for our parks and public works,” said Village Manager Keith Kazmark.

Blowhard
Really?
Excellent. $750k on lights on a field that perpetually floods. Brilliant!
RICH and STUPID
What can I say….
News flash. Most people in Ridgewood are not “rich”
The Schedler grant worked out great. Fixed up a house that has zero uses and we continue to spend boatloads of money trying to put a plastic field on a historic site.
600,000 for the tunnel what are they doing there? How about just power washing the tunnel put all new lighting , do some concrete repair and repaint everything,
Why no mention of the 340,000.00 pavilion for healthbarn use?
The pavillion will be a new sanctuary for the turtles crossing over to Habernickel.
We should have accepted the State offer to build a 10 million upgrade to the train station with a parking garage at Ken’s Ford. Instead we have condos and we paid for a garage by OLMC and now we are begging for little tiny upgrades.
But if they don’t get the grant for the tunnel the $$$ will come out of our pockets. Anyway it is already estimated at over a million dollars. They are hiring historical architects. It’s a tunnel for gods sake.
It’s a tunnel with a strong odor of urine !
True. Same for the underpass on Franklin
More of a waste of money
keep voting in these dopes…
you get the government you vote for.
Well I for sure did not vote for them. Only for Lorraine
Can they clean up the mess. It stinks of piss. How are they going to keep it clean when it’s all redone.
I have heard that Bergen County has not yet released some of the past approved grants because the paperwork is still missing?
The village spends the money assuming they will receive the grant, but doesn’t submit the paperwork to actually get the grant money, costing village taxpayers more money 💰.
