the staff of the Ridgewood blog
Ridgewood NJ, Recycling will continue to be picked up as scheduled, which volume has doubled.
The Recycling Center will REMAIN CLOSED. Therefore, beginning April 13th, Ridgewood residents may bring their residential recycling to the Graydon Pool parking lot from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday (closed on Wednesday and Sunday). Please note that recycling from businesses and yardwaste from commercial landscapers will not be accepted at the Graydon Pool lot. At the Graydon Pool lot, we will be collecting Ridgewood resident residential yardwaste, cans & bottles, cardboard, mixed paper and newspaper. The only route to take to the Graydon Pool lot is: Maple Avenue to Meadowbrook Avenue to Northern Parkway. Place your recycling in your trunk. Once you are at the lot, please present your driver’s license for identification as a Ridgewood resident. Then follow the directions of the Village staff as to where to pull up. Do not get out of your car. Open your trunk, and our staff will put your recycling into the proper bins for you. Once the Village staff has taken the recycling out of your trunk, please drive away, so that the next resident may drop off recycling. This process will help minimize the contact between our Village staff and Ridgewood residents, in keeping with the CDC guidelines for COVID-19.
great…what about the may 1st tax deadline? has this been extended?
The Village is still picking up recyclables & yard waste at curbside as per a published schedule, but the Recycling Center on East Glen Avenue remains closed.
It would seem that the Recycling Center’s closure presents a problem for some residents as evidenced by the plan to open a staff a “recycling & yard waste drop off facility” at Graydon Pool (see linked post).
Curbside recycling & yard waste works fine for my family. Why isn’t it satisfactory for all? Can someone who it isn’t working for please enlighten me as to what I’m missing? Thanks.
The tax deadline has been extended to August 1.
We’d rather utilize the recycling center for the following reasons.
1. We don’t like to leave our mail on the curb for evil doers to sift through and gain information
2. If we shred the mail it may blow all over the neighborhood before getting picked up
3. Never fails – The cardboard goes out on recycling day and then the next day we gets lots of deliveries.
4. We don’t have the room in our house/garage to store cardboard boxes for any amount of time.
5. Nosy neighbors don’t need to know what we are ordering, buying and consuming.
Hope that helps you to understand why some of your neighbors like to use the recycling center.
who says the property tax deadline has been extended? It’s not on the Village website that I can see
Why is the yard shut.
The Village Council approved the following resolution at their last meeting (April 1, 2020):
Resolution #20-97 Authorize Modification to Interest Charged on Overdue Quarterly Property Tax Payments – Authorizes no interest to be charged on overdue property tax payments from May 1, 2020 through August 1, 2020
1. We don’t like to leave our mail on the curb for evil doers to sift through and gain information SHRED ALL OF YOUR MAIL.
2. If we shred the mail it may blow all over the neighborhood before getting picked up PUT THE SHREDDED MATERIAL IN A BARREL WITH A LID. THE VILLAGE WILL PICK UP MATERIALS REGARDLESS OF WHAT TYPE OF CONTAINER THE MATERIAL IS IN
3. Never fails – The cardboard goes out on recycling day and then the next day we gets lots of deliveries. SEE #4.
4. We don’t have the room in our house/garage to store cardboard boxes for any amount of time. BREAK THE BOXES UP AND FLATTEN THEM. TAKES UP LESS SPACE.
5. Nosy neighbors don’t need to know what we are ordering, buying and consuming. DON’T FLATTER YOURSELF; YOU’RE A NOBODY. YOUR NEIGHBORS COULD CARE LESS ABOUT YOUR BUYING AND CONSUMPTION HABITS.
Good god. paranoid much?
who says the property tax deadline has been extended? It’s not on the Village website that I can see
They approved not charging interest for late payments but don’t want anyone to know about it so that’s why it isn’t posted on their shitty website.
5. Nosy neighbors don’t need to know what we are ordering, buying and consuming.
Get over yourself. Everyone knows you’re a drunk already.
Everyone relax, no big deal that we are bringing our cans to the curb. With all that’s going on if you can bring your cans at the curb you are healthy thank God.

Wives might wonder if they have a new girlfriend in town .lol
There’s so much more to worry about then bringing cans to the curb.
Think about all the ones That got sick. Remember my fellow residents the last time we had to bring everything to the curb is when we had major flooding. Remember 1999 storm Floyd. I remember putting my whole basement out at the curb, that was real fun.
Fat Tony would handle this but sadly
he bought the farm .RIP Tone
Those sopranos ran a clean chop shop
the lazy residents leave their cans at the curb instead of retrieving them after pickup.
the lazy residents who put their trash in plastic bags because thats what they did in Fairlawn or NY
the garbage collectors get to go home early on a full days pay because its ‘task work’
welcome to north paterson
Stop crying. Pull your cans back to the backyard.
” With all that’s going on…”

Only thing “going on” is hysteria… and of couse taking advantage of the hysteria.
