Ridgewood NJ, the Village of Ridgewood is asking residents to please keep your vehicles off of the streets today , so that our crews can do their work. Overnight parking on February 2nd. For those with overnight parking permits in the Central Business District, vehicles should be parked on the 2nd floor of the Hudson Street Garage.
Village employees who are plowing are doing a great job, but as soon as they plow a road, it quickly gets covered again with snow. Their main focus is keeping the main roads and the hospital route clear of snow. We are expecting about another 6-10 inches of snow, possibly mixed with sleet, before the storm ends sometime on Tuesday. Please stay inside your homes if you are able to do so, and continue to stay off of the very dangerous roads so that our crews can continue to plow them thoroughly and efficiently.
All Village offices will continue to be closed and staff will be working virtually on Tuesday, February 2nd. Staff will continue to review and respond to emails during the day on Tuesday.
This is to advise you that garbage and recycling pickup will not take place on February 2nd. The Recycling Center will also be closed on these days. Your recycling will be picked up in two weeks or you may bring your recycling to the Recycling Center, which is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The Recycling Center is closed on Wednesday and Sunday.
Rear yard garbage pickup will resume later this week, weather permitting. However, if you do not have a clear path to your garbage cans, please continue to bring your garbage to the end of your driveway until there is a clear path to them. In this way, you will assist us in keeping our Village employees safe.
The Village will resume rear yard garbage collection as quickly as possible after the snowstorm, but please continue to bring your garbage cans to the end of your driveway until you have a clear path to them.
All sidewalks in residential districts must be cleared within 24 hours of the snow falling. Please do not place snow into the street; instead, place it back onto your own property. In addition, if you have a fire hydrant on your property, please clear it of any snow accumulation.
Due to high winds, there may be power outages. Please stay away from downed wires. Plan ahead and know where your flashlights are located. If you experience a power outage, please do not call the Police Department unless there is an emergency. Instead, please call PSE&G directly at 1-800-436-7734 or text OUT to 47734. You may also report your power outage and check the status with PSE&G’s mobile app or by visiting pseg.com/outagecenter.
And finally please remember to check on your neighbors during the snowstorm and stay safe.
