  1. Today I was talking to a few of the workers on sanitation, I said to the worker/driver you’re working by yourself what is going on. I was formed that the village is very understaffed. How about talking about hiring employees. Because in sanitation recycling and yard waste, they are short a good 6 worker’s. Here we go someone’s gonna get hurt. Again. Don’t we have working foreman. This is just ridiculous.

  2. They need a good four garbage trucks.

  3. See these problems can be repaired if the village manager makes rounds too each department and talk directly to the workers. Second we need to have foreman/supervisors getting back on the road and working with the crews. In the past we had supervisors that worked and got dirty and sweaty, now we have ,well we will be nice.

  4. Well I guess if they don’t hire anyone, they’ll be overtime on the weekends.

  5. It’s time for the supervision to get on the back of the yard waste trucks. It will do them good they need exercise. We all love to see that.

  6. Well see ,

  7. Talk about lazzy. Wow .

  8. Sanitation and recycling have been deadly short workers for a long time. We used to have an adequate staff. the work is too much for one or two men and they are being pushed to complete it in the same time frame as before. Where did the money go that we used to pay them? Into that worthless garage? to pay for all the extra costs the luxury housing has incurred? the new water building? Now Ridgewood is serving the rich on the backs of the poor?

And speaking of the luxury housing…has anyone heard anything about the below market housing units? have they ever been built? The last I read was when the first buildings opened is that “construction would soon begin on the share of housing for the lower income people.” has it?

    1. I think that a small portion of the buildings have a few units that qualify as below market (some call it low income) units, therefore integrating them into the overall project.

  9. It’s all bullshit, one scam after the next. I’m watching sanitation trucks go down my block with one or two people on it, are used to be three people on a truck . This is why we have employees getting hurt. And we have yard waste cans 200 pounds. It’s ridiculous, all the towns have Weight limits and ordinances on no more than 51 pounds.

  10. Some one is going to get hurt again. There should be weight limits on the cans. I do know in most towns they have a limit of (51) pound ‘s . That’s osha law in the state of nj.

  11. Yes I live in a nearby town and we are not allowed to have our cans more than 50 pounds, and we are not allowed to use any large sanitation cans either they’re too bulky.
