Ridgewood NJ, At the very end of the long mail-in ballot, you will see in small print, a question about consolidating all elections to November.  This means no vote on the school budget, and a crowded ballot which can confuse voters who are voting on state and national issues.

Please go to KeepOurVote.com  website for the FACTS, not a one sided push to disenfranchise voters.  We must have the opportunity to examine our school budget.  This has nothing to do with our faith and trust in our public schools; this has everything to do with transparency and education.
The proponents say that the budgets are limited to a 2% increase so no need to vote, but that is false.  When the elections were moved to November under Gov Christie years ago, the increases were more like 3% because there are always “exceptions” that are not covered by the cap.  Next year we will have an influx of students from the 4 apartment complexes, and that will cause an “exception” to the cap.  We want students, of course but we also want to examine budgets.
PLEASE VOTE NO on the consolidation of the elections.  The question is in small print at the end of the ballot, so don’t forget to vote NO.
THIS IS AN EFFORT TO DISENFRANCHISE US.

  1. Horrible that some of our neighbors think we have too much say in the process we fund, that we ask too many questions and therefore want to take away our right to vote.

  7. OVOV states that this is a security issue? How many voters have been school shooters? None that I can find in a thorough internet search. That’s right . . . none. Additionally, it has been documented that shooters look for vulnerable targets; places where security is inadequate. Schools on election day have beefed up security; it it unlikely that a shooter would chose a secure facility to carry out his /her attack. So OVOV, please stop your fear mongering and do something you are good at . . . crappy blogging, crappy HSA volunteers, suing over soccer and crappy “201 Magazine” crap.
