WalletHub Study : New Jersey Ranks the 3rd Best School System in America

Ridgewood N J, With in-person learning this fall hinging on how well states handle the COVID-19 pandemic, the personal-finance website WalletHub today released its report on 2020’s States with the Best & Worst School Systems, as well as accompanying videos.

In order to determine the best school systems in America, WalletHub compared the 50 states and the District of Columbia across 33 key measures of quality and safety. The data set ranges from pupil-teacher ratio and dropout rate to median standardized-test scores and school closures due to COVID-19.

Quality & Safety of Schools in New Jersey (1=Best; 25=Avg.):

  • 3rd – Math Test Scores
  • 2nd – Reading Test Scores
  • 4th – Pupil-Teacher Ratio
  • 28th – Median SAT Score
  • 4th – Median ACT Score
  • 2nd – Dropout Rate
  • 25th – Bullying Incidence Rate
  • 11th – % of Threatened/Injured High School Students
  • 1st – Statewide School Closure due to COVID-19

  1. Is that because we have One of the highest Tax rate in United States. Or is it just the area we are just a little bit smarter than everyone else. And now that they’re stating that, two individuals that come out of school in New Jersey make more money then other peoples coming out of other school systems. This is interesting.     Like WalletHub rankings really matter.
    They just aggregate data from other “best of” lists and then factor in other factors like funding, awards from other websites – some legitimate, some with dubious motives, etc, etc.
    .
    WalletHub ranking is not anything you should use to evaluate school “systems” (not even school districts).
    .
