Ridgewood NJ, the Left has been busy convincing Americans that our Founding Fathers did not believe in the principle of equality set forth in the Declaration of Independence.

Nikole Hannah-Jones, developer of the “1619 Project,” claimed that one of the reasons American colonists fought the Revolutionary War was to preserve the institution of slavery.

That is a lie.

In the latest episode of our weekly YouTube series, “Highlights,” Dr. Kevin Portteus outlines what the Founders did about slavery. In this video, Dr. Portteus presents the clear evidence that shows our Founders understood that slavery was evil and took action to place the injustice on a path to extinction.

  1. Ben Franklin was president of the Pennsylvania Abolition Society and he wanted slavery abolished from the start of our country. See his petition to congress to eliminate slavery

  3. My son spent a lot of time learning about the 1619 project a few years ago at RHS (he graduated in 2019)
