Ridgewood Firefighters Quick Response Knocks Down Car Fire

RIDGEWOOD, NJ — Residents on Grove Street were jolted awake early Saturday morning, December 20, 2025, by the sight of a vehicle fully engulfed in flames.
The Ridgewood Fire Department and EMS units were dispatched to the 600 block of Grove Street after multiple reports of a car fire. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered a compact SUV completely overtaken by fire.
Rapid Response Prevents Extension
Under the swift action of Ridgewood Professional Firefighters FMBA Local 47, the blaze was brought under control before it could spread to nearby trees or power lines. While the fire was extinguished quickly, the intense heat and flames left the compact SUV a total loss.
