Saddle River NJ, the 14th annual Susan Zabransky Hughes Memorial 5K Run/Walk will take place on Saturday, April 26, from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., beginning and ending at Zion Lutheran Church, located at 90 E. Allendale Road.
Traffic Closures and Parking Information
The Saddle River Police Department advises that East Allendale Road will be closed from East and West Saddle River roads to Upper Cross Road in neighboring Upper Saddle River during the event. A hard road closure will begin at 8:00 a.m., and no traffic will be allowed:

Northbound on the upper portion of West Saddle River Road

Southbound on the upper portion of East Saddle River Road

Along Upper Cross Road
Local residents are advised to inform contractors and visitors expected between 7:45 and 10:00 a.m. to use alternate routes or adjust their arrival times.

Honoring Susan Zabransky Hughes
The race is held in memory of Susan Zabransky Hughes, a Saddle River resident who passed away in July 2011 at age 46 from cervical cancer. Hosted by the Run for Sue Committee, the event has raised more than $2.6 million for the Hackensack Meridian Health Foundation since its inception.

The USATF-certified 5K race is open to all runners and walkers, though pets are not allowed on the course in accordance with event regulations.

Let it be known this is a great cause but Hackensack Meridian “Corporate” Pascack Valley Medical Center in Westwood does participate in Ageism, je: age discrimination towards the elderly, on who lives and who doesn’t depending on age alone! $$$$$$$! The NJ Department of Health seems to approve this policy. The system is broken and needs to be overhauled with new leadership everywhere in NJ. Our precious elderly population are at risk!
