Hackensack NJ, the City of Hackensack takes a major leap forward in community safety with the grand opening of the Safe Street Command Center! This state-of-the-art facility, located in the John Earl Building adjacent to police headquarters, will serve as the central hub for modernizing the city’s patrol and crime prevention efforts.
The Command Center is a cornerstone of the Hackensack Police Department’s strategy to leverage advanced technology for public safety. It features tools like location-based data systems, license plate readers, surveillance cameras, and drones, all working together to ensure faster response times and more efficient policing.
Technology That Works 24/7
“Cameras don’t fall asleep, they don’t take breaks, they’re working 24/7 and they’re non-intrusive,” said Police Director Ray Guidetti. “This is a great way to enhance public safety.”
The new system allows the department to monitor activity across the city in real-time, identifying issues proactively and allocating resources more effectively. From ensuring safer streets to tackling crime hotspots, the Safe Street Command Center aims to make Hackensack a safer place for all.
A Collaborative Effort
This milestone achievement would not have been possible without the vision and dedication of:
Mayor John Labrosse
The Hackensack City Council
Hackensack Police Chief Michael Antisita

RIdgewood is behind the times for not having a similar set up. Fair Lawn has this system too.
I believe a generous local philanthropist offered to fund it at no cost to taxpayers a few years ago but the ‘then’ council chose to decline. BIG MISTAKE
This is correct, David Bolger offered to fund this project. All recorded tapes were to be in a secure location, reviewed only if a crime had been committed, reviewed only after being authorized by the Chief of Police. Council voted it down.
it was felt at the time the ‘gift” had too many strings attached , Ridgewood was a much different town in those days
