Ridgewood NJ, the lights are dimming, the popcorn is ready, and the silver screen is coming to life in a way Ridgewood has never seen before. The historic 80th edition of the RHS Jamboree officially opened, bringing Hollywood glamour to the heart of North Jersey.
This year’s production, “Lights, Camera, Jamboree,” isn’t just a show—it’s a milestone. Celebrating eight decades of community spirit, this all-original musical revue is set to transport audiences into the magic of the movies, all while raising vital funds for Ridgewood High School seniors.
By the Numbers: A Massive Volunteer Effort
What makes Jamboree truly unique is that every person you see on stage (and everyone you don’t) is a volunteer. This year’s cast and crew represent the largest collaboration in recent history:
-
145 Talented cast members (all RHS parents and guardians).
-
55+ Jamboree Alumni returning for the 80th anniversary.
-
30+ Backstage crew members managing the “movie magic.”
-
6-Piece Live band providing the soundtrack to the silver screen.
A Legacy of Giving: $2 Million and Counting
While the laughter and music are the highlights, the true purpose of RHS Jamboree is life-changing. Established in 1947, the production raises need-based college scholarships for RHS seniors.
In the last 15 years alone, the Ridgewood community has raised over $2 million, directly opening doors for students who might otherwise struggle to afford higher education. Because the Jamboree Scholarship Fund, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) charity, every ticket purchased and every sponsorship donated is tax-deductible.
“Jamboree is more than a show—it’s a family. It’s a legacy of partnership and giving that echoes for generations.”
What to Expect: “Lights, Camera, Jamboree”
This year’s original script takes the audience behind the scenes of the world’s most beloved films. From the golden age of Hollywood to modern blockbusters, the parent volunteers step into the spotlight to recreate iconic scenes with a “Ridgewood twist.” Expect high-energy choreography, witty local humor, and a finale that celebrates 80 years of this “village” tradition.
How You Can Support
If you can’t make it to the theater, you can still support the cause. The Jamboree Scholarship Fund relies on:
-
Program Sponsors: Local businesses supporting the 80-year tradition.
-
Individual Donations: Contributions that go directly to the class of 2026.
-
Volunteerism: Joining the “Jamboree Family” for future productions.
