Last night I watched budget meeting on TV and a gentleman protested that it was insanity to spend close to 800 thousand dollars alone on new windows for Ridgewood School Board of Ed . He said he and other residents were having a hard time making ends meet because of new tax laws on property taxes. Loncte and Fishbein were completely unsympathetic and rigid about spending all that money. Loncte said they had to spend that money in order to keep house sales high , because people chose Ridgewood for there good schools. Thanks to James we known that Ridgewood ranks less than other less expensive towns in Bergen County.”
These buildings need to be maintained. Windows are not cheap, as well as heating systems,floors, etc.
Hi James – please correct this – these windows are for ED Center. Just one building. Not for RHS. This is for administrators.. not students. Ed Center building.
Some quick math–there are fewer than 100 windows in that building. That’s more than $8k a window. Doesn’t sound like they got very competitive bids for this. Is that decrepit old building even worth $800k?
Maybe we can build a Ginormous Garage and use all of the massive profits from it to pay for the windows.
Local Taxes are not exempt anymore, this makes taxes expensive for everyone, Higher Taxes do not make a community more inviting, balance need to be restored, We have high taxes and if Schools outperform, that’s the only win-win situation, dipping HS ratings and Higher taxes will lead to less interest in VOR.

Completely tone deaf and out of touch with reality – Loncto and Fishbein wouldn’t even respond to a resident’s honest concern about these windows and their cost, just saying “We need them now”. Well maybe these out of touch redecorated aren’t up to the jobs they have, time to resign because we don’t need them now.
Then why are they spending 500 a pop for “standing desks” if they need windows?
