Village Council Elections: As a 30 year resident of the Village I have witnessed many changes to our community
As a 30 year resident of the Village I have witnessed many changes to our community. Having never been involved with town politics, I now feel compelled to voice an opinion. Those who step forward to serve should always be commended for their effort. The job often requires much sacrifice in their personal lives. Over the many years, I have watched many faces come and go. Mancuso, Pfund, Weist, Harlow, Miller, Savarre, Butler, Grubb just to name a few. For the most part, they had always seemed to have Ridgewood’s best interest at heart. There were many challenges they all faced and usually they got it right. They genuinely seemed to care for the town and less about themselves.
However, now there seems to be an “ill wind” shift. The debate the other night really saddened me when it became obvious to all who watched that Mr. Aronsohn has a personal agenda at the expense of others and I fear at the expense of us regular folks just sitting on the sidelines hoping for good local government. Mr. Killion clearly seemed to deeply care for our town and distanced himself from the “Chicago” type politics displayed by others. Admittedly, I have missed voting in other local elections but this time I will surely make the effort to vote for Mr. Killion.
Yes Yes YES, definitely vote for Killion. We have to keep him in office in order to maintain sanity in our Village government.
And by the way, what is with “big daddy” spending the family fortune on full-page ads of his blue-eyed, empty-headed daughter Gwenn? Come on, I know a dad loves his daughter no matter what, but it gags me to see these pitiful attempts to get her elected.
Yes, agree, with you on the current election and will vote Killion.
But, as to the ill- wind, I am not sure i agree with you. As a fifty year resident, i think the ill-wind began to blow in the Mancusco – Pfund years. Pat seemed to be interested in how many years he could accrue on his state pension while David had his hand out asking what was in it for him when he finished and pursued his private practice.
In contrast, Keith seems more interested in doing whats best for Ridgewood. He may not always be right, but his intentions are to benefit the Village and not himself.
So, vote Killion!!!
couldn’t agree with you more. Keith is what we need more of. I am also voting Shinozuka. She seemed very nervous at the debate, but very honest and sincere. I think she will be another person who cares deeply about what happens in this town. The others scare me.
Saul Aronsohn is nothing more than a pawn of the bergen county democratic organization with ties to Cody and other high power Democrates. Chicago like tactics, indeed.
I found those full page ads to be an embarrassment too. And I am not even the candidate.
I will cast my vote AGAINST Aronsohn in a simple attempt to save the town $25,000 per year. The cost of medical benefits provided to Paul Aronsohn and his family.
I’m glad to see that everyone is finally seeing the truth about Aronsohn and how he is not good for Ridgewood.
While not perfect, Killion and Shinozuka seem to have RWs best interests at heart and will be getting my vote.
As to my 3rd vote, I am still evaluating the remaining candidates including the option to withold my third vote (I am currently leaning towards this option).
I agree with the original poster, and our family has been here since 1954 through several generations — so we’ve sure seen lots of changes too.
We’re supporting Killion and Shinozuka for the same reason many have stated above– they don’t seem to have any other agenda than Ridgewood’s best interests. That’s extremely impt to us – as contrasted to Aronsohn. We will possibly also support Pucciarelli for the 3rd seat, based on same logic.
