Ridgewood NJ, a reader counted 36 empty parking spaces at the train station parking lot this morning as of 10 AM ,begging the question ,”Why do we need a parking garage?”

Yes we know , its graduation day in Ridgewood , and earlier in the week it did seem a bit more crowded .
The recent reconfiguration of the train station parking lot end result of the construction was the addition of approximately 35 additional parking spaces in the train station lot.

We absolutely do not need a garage. One person on FB said she had to walk one block to get to the train because she could not park in the station lot. Oh, poor thing, walking a block. Doesn’t anyone realize that they will have quite a walk from the top floor of the garage down and then to their destination???
It’s the week school is ending, and a summer Friday… Most of the time that lot is packed by about 7:30am.
Don’t worry it will fill up with out of town spenders.
The parking lot is a done deal. It was forced on us two two groups. Firstly, organized labor, which always needs construction projects. Secondly, the restaurant owners and landlords, who think more business will come if you provide more parking.
And guess who pays for it all?
What about the other side. That needs to be fixed up.
WE GOT SCREWED..PUT THE NAMES OF THE POLITICIANS WHO RAMMED THIS
BOONDOGGLE THROUGH ON THE FRONT WALL SO WE KNOW WHO SCREWED US OVER
Will be great for out of town commuters as they race off on local street to the the south route 17 and north side of town to their quiet neighborhoods..we pay & they skate on the whole deal.Trains will be packed.
The commuter annual station parking passes are insane cost wise.
Trees were butchered. How about the expense recap on this boondoggle ..rain
still pools on the main roadway towards the station .will be an icy mess.
other side ?
get a grip ..spenders will bankrupt us all..perhaps we should let the contractors who posted this that we indeed are fools on Election Day but not completely asleep on the parking Lot fiasco.garagezilla has not even broken ground..costs are already huge on planning side
towns a disgrace..for sales signs all over town including the
non millionaire areas .people are getting Out NOW
realtor politicians love the churn..more newbies to scam..
If this is trying to imply we did not need the extra spaces, that is nuts. The lot will easily be filled. There are never places left. Usually by the 7:37 express it is filled
Try to find a spot during lunch or dinner
