Glen Rock NJ, An adult male was struck and killed by a Hoboken bound New Jersey Transit passenger train at the Main Line Train Station in Glen Rock on Saturday afternoon, 07/13. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene by a paramedic team from The Valley Hospital. Motor vehicle traffic was diverted away from New Jersey Transit’s Main Line’s Rock Road, Glen Rock grade level crossing during the subsequent police investigation, which was conducted by officers of the New Jersey Transit Police Department. Glen Rock Police, Glen Rock Fire, and Glen Rock EMS also responded to the incident, as did a representative of the Bergen County Sheriff’s Office.

Glen Rock Mayor Bruce Packer,”Unfortunately, there was another horrible incident at the Main Line train track this afternoon as well. See below from Chief Ackermann…our thoughts and prayers are with the family of the victim and we are so appreciative, once again, of our first responders who responded to the scene. At 3:37 PM this afternoon our officers were dispatch to assist the NJ Transit Police on a report of an individual struck by a train at the Main Line Train Station. NJ Transit Train 1720 bound from Suffern to Secaucus Junction struck a male subject on the tracks at the train station who was pronounced dead on scene. The Glen Rock PD, Glen Rock FD and OEM assisted the Transit Police and Bergen County Medical Examiners Office on scene. The investigation was handled by the NJ Transit Police, please contact NJ Transit for further information. ID of the victim is not being released until next of kin have been notified.”
