Residents are misguided if they think Paul Aronsohn is a layup for Mayor
The election is over and two new faces have emerged on the Village Council. What makes you all think they are going to bow down and kiss the feet of Paul Aronsohn?
Al Pucciarelli has been a valued member of both the zoning and planning boards for years. He’s had more than an admirable career as an attorney. He has sound judgment and pledged to the residents to be fair and impartial. He will hardly vote lock step with anyone.
Gwenn Hauck has lived here her entire life. She’s volunteered her time graciously and has never been involved in mudslinging.
I’ve been privy to the scores of emails by Ridgewood council wannabes who have indicated that “Paul will lead them” on the right path. Their only job moving forward is to make good on all the campaign promises they made as individuals. Not on what Paul Aronsohn wants or demands.
I don’t think there’s any doubt that Aronsohn becomes the mayor…that’s the quid pro quo for him agreeing a week before the election to run as a troika.
There is no doubt that that was his plan and goal. But life is not fair and “you can’t always get what you want.” He should not lead council meetings.
He should lead the Council. He was the highest vote getter. He has four years experience on the Council. He has great ideas.
#3 if he has great ideas why didn’t we see any the last 4 years??? , I agree with the post its Al all the way ! out with the old in with the new
sorry if you dint like the way things were run Paul was part of the way things were run he needs to step aside
#4 Paul claims he was held back by other Council members. He is the face of the new Ridgewood and he has the backing of the residents. Remember he was the highest vote getter. The other two rode in on his coat tails. He has great vision for the downtown and the business. A long need parking garage. Lower taxes. Mediate Valley. He is going to get rid of the H Zone. He is a leader.
The newly formed council will choose the mayor by majority vote. Receiving the most votes in the election is not a criterion. Two years ago Bernie Walsh received the most votes but she did not become mayor. Whomever any three council members want most is who will become our next mayor.
If Aronsohn ran council meetings, who would stop his rants and prevent the meetings from lasting for seven hours?
Aronsohn is a strong leader and has the background to prove it. Just go on his web site. Look at his accomplishment. Look how he got the voters out in Ridgewood, something that no one could do for years.
